There were quite obvious attempts to bring their servers down, no one is gonna question them now. And in any case, even if what you've said would be completely true, it doesn't really change the outcome - it is still an excuse.

Remember starforce?

i remember but you can't compare starforce with this DRM. this is almost similar to steamworks DRM but without an offline mode. for steam there are good server emulator? it is crackable? the answer is NO. so this protection is UNCRACKABLE as well and don't aspect for a crack until when UBI will release an offline patch to remove the obligation to play all time connected to their server

steam + Ubi DRM are uncrackables and we are all fucking now Laughing

damn wrong there are many steam games with pirate servers and are playable on multiplayer.

any L4d2 ones?

anyway- my point in mentioning starforce was... you don't see it much anymore because legit users were having trouble too. end of story.

I agree with the obvious atempts that happened recently, how ever I dont think the first time they went down it was because of hackers ddosing or w/e.

Finally they are a coorporation and should of made 100% sure this wouldnt happen by geting better security. Why does this never happen to blizzards wow for instance?

Server Error in '/' Application.
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Well I am still playing. Of course it could be like it was before - as long as you are in the game you are fine, it is logging in that won't work...Or maybe it's all fine on the server I am using.

Well Blizzard had a lot of time now to make things work as they should. Overall though, if things won't settle down after some time, the negative publicity will eventually kill this thing, that's true. But then someone will try this again at a later time. I wouldn't be surprised if the next gen consoles would require constant connections for whatever reasons.

They're trying to keep you from returning the game to where you bought it as well as appease their customers to not file lawsuits or complain on their boards.

Also, if it's true that these downtimes are a result of DDoS attacks (and not incompetence on Ubi's part, which is also a possibility) there's really little they can do, there's no real effective way to prevent a DDoS attack, at best they can try to recover as quick as possible.

the attackers wont stop untill something is done about the DRM methinks, UBI better prepare for war.

bad idea for ubi to twitter "haha no crack yet" they just invited themselves into a world of pain by doing that, I say go attackers! dont stop till one of you is dead!
