Well, maybe because it was supposed to come out on October 2009?

I thought it was a pc only title?
producing it not only for the pc, but also for the consoles might be a reason for the delay.

Boom Boom Boom Trailer

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-boom-mafia-ii/62666

Every time the game is delayed, a new shiny trailer appears..
It's as if to say: "Yes you have to wait *undefined number-->+∞ * months but look at how awesome the game is!" Laughing

Not bad at all, don't get me wrong Very Happy. But I'd really like if devs/publishers grow some balls and tell the truth for a change. Every dev/publisher thinks of the most retarded reasons to do something. "People like bewbs, we give them bewbs" would've sufficed.
I'm curious how this'll be implemented.

New interview & hands on:

New gameplay:

It seems they corrected the handling, looks pretty cool.

I'm not so sure about the "GPS" waypoint system, looks kinda weird in the 40s and 50s.

Denby Grace confirmed that the game will be around 15 hours (disappointing IMO Sad )

The game will come out (...right) between August and October of 2010.

Love the sounds.

Again with the cover system. While I do understand the necessity of cover in shooters, I don't like it when it's a cornerstone of gameplay, like in Mass Effect 2.

Going in Rambo sytle would be better then? Or was the ancient awkward cover system in games better?

A news from the GDC 10:

Looks like Mafia II will allow the player to choose between two different driving models (arcade and simulative).

a lot of the missions in the original Mafia forced you to use cover as a means to survive. So it's not something that does not fit imho. They didnt have an automated cover-system, but as long as it is integrated well, it might make the game more "cinematic" for lack of a better term. Some games have managed to make auto-covering fun, while others didnt. Since the original mafia was awesome, i d suggest a wait and see approach to news like that. You are still allowed to hate it afterwards though Laughing
