every fucking time something major with a game issue appears they all scream "im gonna take them to court" ...
kids, can never be enough of them at a time like this...
ive not read the link, but I wonder if anyone has read the aggrements they click on when installing, no doubt it says somewhere in legal terms, "may be some issues with initial server connections due to the newness of the protection used"
Yeah, because petitions work ALL the time! Just look at the phenomenal success of the "give MW2 dedicated servers" petition! That got 1.4 million votes it worked! I'm playing MW2 on a dedicated server right now! Honest!
bought the key and like madmax said I deserve to be punished. Don`t have big problems with connecting but the game is running like crap on my quite high end PC
Runs smooth here with everything maxed. E8500 and HD4850. I haven't had a single slowdown. Depends on what you call highend of course.
Mister_S maybe its not really high end but phenom II 945 and gtx 260 should run this game like butter
Someone asked earlier about buying key, yes i bought a key and instead of dl from steam I used iso to install and play
Hmm, I got a Q6600 2.4Ghz and a Geforce8800GTS (g92) 512 mb Vram and the game runs smooth for me, and your pc should also be able to run this fine.
Have you tried to install the latest Gfx drivers?
Anywhere I can buy a key with credit card? I dont have paypal.
You can use your credit card with paypal without having a paypal account, I did that, just chose to pay without a paypal account when you get to the paypal screen (the option is right in the middle of the paypal screen)
Is there a way to add the deluxe edition content from steam to the retail version? or it´s bound to ubi´s account?
I bought a key from that us site -30 dollars- but still havent received it yet. Nevertheless Ii wonder if it´s possible to do it.

you can bet ur arse they are covered..
Covered or not, countries have consumer right laws which agreements cannot change... So yeah, i think its possible.

I dunno i thinks its why you agree you know? I still have a feeling consumer rights laws for diff country areas dont come into play IF you the purchases have already wavered the right to those via the Eula aggreement checkbox without even fucking reading most the time eh
its there for a reason to protect them from such happenings otherwise you would see much more game publishers falling at court and being taken to court regular like.. Do you see that these days much? No one does not,, because they always have theyre asses covered..
As a law graduate i can tell you that indeed, regardless of the agreement they can't bypass a country's laws. Otherwise any one could make whatever agreement they wanted and find some one gollable to sign it thus bypassing the law of the state.
How ever judging by the fact that ubi's server was down for few hours and people are still playing (even if not at 100%) this does not violate any consumer law.
An internet provider who has problems with his servers and they go down once every 2 hrs, doesn't violate consumer laws. Instead he just makes bad publicity for himself
To be honest I can see why ubisoft is so pissed off about piracy.
Most of their games are singleplayer only and its probably quite annoying to see that youve sold 1 milion copies while on the torents there have been over 5 milion downloads for your game on just one site.
If a game has mplayer included people who pirate it might want to experience the mplayer aspect and thus buy the game, while some one who finishes assassin creed 1 will probably not be inclined to buy the original.
How ever when there is no mplayer there is absolutely no incentive to spend monney on an original game that has no aditions to the pirated version.
Hahaha I thought you're Parallax_, and than I saw the name
Anywho, I found AC1 a fun game, a bit repetitive tho, and I haven't played AC2 yet but from what I've seen It looks like AC1 so I doubt much will change

~Its far less repetative then AC1, its a fun game I didnt see the first one through to the end, but the second I couldnt wait to finish it.

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!

The thing is that alot of people indeed download games, but those that LOVE the game are buying them aswell. Me myself for example downloaded maybe like 500 games over the years and bought like 100 of them.
The reason i download them first is because i wanna test if 1. the game is good 2. the game runs well on my pc.
If either 1 of them doesnt seem to fit me then i wont buy it, simple as that. I learned my lesson once with buying a game wich eventually never ran on my pc (cant remember wich game and for what reasons tho).
But personally, if a game sells or gets downloaded alot, it still means u did a good job getting so many copies out in the world and u know people play it, that should be enough satisfaction for a gamedesigner. Too bad its all about the money these days and not about personal satifaction.

Sorry to ask but how many of those 100 games you've bought were single player only games? Like tomb rider pop splintercell or ac?
