As opposed to those north korean documentaries, that are raw and straight to the point about Kim Jong-Il being god! D:

Hachiko - 9.5/10

Totally unexpected, I saw the original some 10 years ago, and I thought to give this one a shot just to see how hollywood has ruined it, and to my surprise it was able to keep the core essence of the movie and despite this story is already widely known it's still able to kept me on the edge of my seat.

In my opinion this is as good or even better than the original.

A recommended watch.

Hey I told you 3-4 Months ago that it was a very nice movie, how can this come unexpected

Oh, now I remember Smile

Really great movie.

When the movie ended and it switched back to the kid at school telling the story, my immediate reaction was, "you are not laughing now!" Laughing

Zombieland - 9/10
That's a zombie flick to my taste. Had it's zombie smashing, had enough humor to not be taken serious.
There's really nothing to bitch about.
it's only a 9 since there has always to be some room for improvement Very Happy
Haven't seen Dead Set yet will see when I'll come around to it.
Zombieland cured my itch for zombie flicks right now fo sho.
Let's see what comes up next.
Still got Black Snake Moan, Green Lantern First Flight, Justice League Crisis on Earth and Gran Torino lying around Smile

you really didnt find those 2 chicks to be utterly annoying, and didnt find the movie slowed to a crawl whenever they showed up? like i said earlier, id totally call it a 9 IF it'd only just been woody and the scrawny kid crackin jokes and kidding zombies, but those 2 chicks totally killed the film.

green lantern was really good... and not just for an animated kids film.

Holy crap, this guy is amazingly smart and much of what he says rings true. In fact, I couldn't really find a single faulty argument in anything he said. What's scary is that what he's saying is like a map to our current reality.

I was very disappointed in that movie. Started off very strong and went down hill fast for me. And i agree with you about the girls.
That's about when I started yawning.
Sure it had some moments here and there (Bill Murray scene mostly), but not up to par with how it started.

rewatched ninja asian... brrip this time, instead of the shitty screener

i think i gave it a 6.. not gonna re-rate it, i think 6 is reasonable enough... i swear, i STILL say the finale, especially when he goes magic-shadow-man bullshit, was just fucking dumb... one of the shittiest most lamest scenes ive seen in a movie.

also, this ninja clan... worst fucking ninjas EVER... they let like 3 or 4 fucking hummers AND a fucking helecopter 'sneak' up on them? HAHAHA fucking clueless fuckers

remember speed racer? i fucking loved that movie (yep, so fuck ya's), and now i know where they outsourced their ninjas from hahahah Very Happy

well i loved it, it was a fun flick, that had a great balance of action and 'talky shit', good cast, and above all, it didnt drop the ball when it came to the finale. unlike ninja asian.

i think what i loved the most, is that visually it did something fantastic, unlike most effects movies. yeah... i liked it. it was batshit crazy fun. i wouldnt rate it as one of my fav films ever, but im happy to say i enjoyed it and wish theyd made a sequel.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief - 4/10?

Horrible, just some decent CGI, horrible script and overall a painful experience. Not that I didn't know it before hand...

Capitalism: A love story - ?

As someone who knows very little about the economic status of the US or the political system they have, this was still an enjoyable movie. Obviously I took everything with a lot of salt since it's Michael Moore, but some of the stuff was absolutely disgusting and completely insane... Can't say if it's a good documentary since I'm not knowledgeable in the subject but it was entertaining.

For a good documentary about the state of things, I would recommend Collapse.

But for know I strongly recommend you to watch Hachiko the 2009 remake.
Imo it surpasses the quality of the Japanese version.
Since it seems you have seen some really bad movies in the last few days, I advise to watch this one.

You won't be disappointed! Wink

Already seen Collapse and it was good, I've also seen both the original Hachi ko and the new one. ^^ And yes, they are great, I still prefer the original but both are indeed amazing, makes me cry every time, never cried as much to a movie as I did when I watched the original, was ridiculous. Very Happy

Thanks for the tips though. Wink

AVATAR 3D. Hard to give a rating to. The Real3D system screwed w/ my eyes, sometimes it was great, other times it was a bit fuzzy and gave me a headache.

For those who saw it in 3D, where did you sit? Towards the back of the theatre in the middle? We sat about halfway from the screen and the back, but not dead-center. I wonder if this has any bearing on my experience.

I'd like to see it in 2D next, but will wait for the Blu Ray, whenever that is.

Apocalypse of the Dead -99/10

Holy crap, I thought I'd seen the worst movies ever made when I went through my horror/zombie phase years ago and watched some atrocious movies by Bruno Mattei etc..

But this, a serbian zombie flick (!) with Ken Foree being the ONLY trained actor in the whole production (serbs speaking very broken English) made me cringe for the 20 minutes I managed to hold on before I stopped watching. I felt so embarrassed for Ken Foree for having good intentions supporting some amateur movie makers in Serbia and they managed to make the worst zombie movie ever...

how come you could swallow all the stupid bullshit in spr but then rate brotherhood o war lower? for whatever sillyness you saw in the finale, surely it wasnt as retarded as spr. i think i remember riddick standing out in the open like a lemon until some sniper put him out of our misery, not to mention the fact that i dunno how many people DIED trying to save ONE guy who didnt even want to leave, has to be one of the most irritating storylines ever :/

...unless you're just tacking on an extra 5 points because it wasnt subtitled...
