If it works, does anyone care if its grey market? I just bought one myself, will report back later. |
Maybe the people who are employed in where they were stolen, or whoever shipped them to said place where they went "missing".
So someone may possibly lose a job over it, but its ok as long as your get your cheap cd-key at end of it all?
And that is what is wrong with today compared to the mid 80's-mid 90's, back then people actually had respect for others.

You do realize that games are way cheaper in Russia, Singapore... and that is where these keys come from?

CD Game selling sites like Onlinekeystore and g2play ahve been around for years. I believe G2play resells keys from russia and poland, while onlinekeystore resells asian keys based in Singapore.
These are not stolen keys, purchasing keys from these stores is the same as purchasing a game while visiting one of those countries on a holiday there. You do however run the risk of some douchebag company like Activision banning your MW2 key becasue you bought it from a grey import site, but to be honest, only Activision has done that for MW2, and in limited numbers - the key I got from g2play still works as of today on steam.
These places tend to do a bang up job in trying to keep their rep up - I recently got a key for Global agenda for 20 euro from Onlinekeystore, and it dint work. Apparently all their keys for the batch they got didnt work, becasue they took the item out of stock on their store immediately, but they still managed to get me a working key I paid for by sendign me the game on steam as a "gift".
Still, when buying such keys do so using a system such as paypal or soemthign similar where you can cancel and take back your payment in case anything goes wrong. Always better safe than sorry, but after my experiences buying keys from these stores.. Id be stupid to pay 60 euro for a game I can get for 20.

Be aware most keys are tied to regions, so how do Americans get to use a Eastern Bloc key? Hmmm interesting question.

What the hell is this? Day of the Pretentious Ass or something? We've got one guy whining about pirating games, and another whining about people buying cheap keys.
... oh Hi thar Ubisoft employees! How's the weather up there on your ten mile high moral horse?

Many keys are region locked, which is why for games like Lotro and Wow you will find keys sold for they region they are valid in. But many keys, MW2 being one of them, are not region locked.
How does it work? I dot know, all I know is I bought a MW2 key from singapore for 30 euro, and it worked. Still does.

In terms of key prices, 30€ seems a bit steep. But hey.

And that's supposed to make me do what? Drop to my knees in fervorous admiration? Not likely. Drop down off your high horse for a teensy bit, stop whining at people, and maybe - just maybe - I'll have more respect for you. Until then, all I see is someone pissing in their pants - on a piracy forum no less - about people pirating games and/or buying "fell off the back of a lorry, guv'" keys.
I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay €15/$20 and get a key from some wartorn shithole like Russia, than pay €40/$60 from a supposedly "civilised" country like the UK.

+1
Couldn't agree more, the price dictates from where I buy it, not the country.

No it wasnt. But did you have to compare me to a ubisoft employee in the hopes of looking cool to the others in the thread? Quid Pro Quo.
Just saying you shouldnt rush in opening your mouth without weighing all the information up first. And you failed in your lame attempt of trying to look funny and cool.
So wah wah wah wah wahhhhhhhhh.

You can buy overprices POS games at retail shops if you want to. But don't try to moralize people here. I buy cheap keys for every game I want too...I don't really care whether the sellers on such sites magically conjure those keys, or steal it from somewhere, or gray market, whatever.
As long as it works, it's fine by me. People lose their jobs for many other reasons, having to pay sometimes 3 times of that you would have paid for key alone on such sites is good enough justification for me.
By your logic you shouldn't pirate any game and for sake of others buy every damn game even that you don't want, or publishers will be forced to lay off some developers due to low profits.

For someone who's been here long enough, you sure don't know jackshit about me. I couldn't give a flying fuck about looking "cool" or "funny". I post what I feel like, when I feel like, and I do it because I choose to.
As for the crying? You'll find you're the only one doing that. Let me call you a waaaaaaahmbulance. In the meantime, I'll keep enjoying my games at half the price scum like Activision charges.
Oh and FYI? I was the first person to release a working no-net-needed bypass for Phantasy Star Blue Burst, so yeah - I'm unimpressed by what you've "accomplished"

And do you know anything about me to say im a Ubisoft employee? No. So your point is moot.
Wow a bypass to an online game, wow. Disect a packed binary, rebuild, fix PE header, crack and then show may impress me more than a bypass.
Actually if you knew some ASM that may impress me a bit.
But I at least did something in this thread, several posts of no-one talking about AC2. Even the mods couldnt do that
Crying??? the wah wah wah wah wahhhhhh is the sound of a gameshow tune when you fail.
