I think all obsidian/black isles games were superior RPGs to all bioware games. They were more hardcore, and character driven. Bioware games were story dirven, story for 13 year old boys. As flawed as kotor2 might have been, Kreia was something bioware could never do.

And mask of the betrayer was bug free, and the best nwn game ever. Very deep and thought provoking, with an original plot and ending. I trust obsidian highly.

You've got to be kidding me. Everyone says the opposite. Even I will say bioware > obsidian.
Only the interface was better if you compare kotor 1 and 2 but kotor 1 had a much more compelling story than 2.

I disagree. Kotor I was good enough, but Kotor II was infinitely better. It actually stepped beyond simple black-white vision of star wars universe, was much, much deeper and more challenging story-wise (not in the sense that it was hard, because it was far too easy, but in the sense that it made you wonder, provoked to see jedi and force in a different light). If not for the bugs and general lack of polish, the game would be truly epic.

As Radicalus already wrote, as much as i like some Bioware games (my favourite being probably BG2, made in the best of times, when both groups had a lot of influence on each other), "Kreia was something Bioware could never do" . Admittedly, they've become better in this field by Dragon Age and ME2, but still, MotB's level of story-telling and, especially, depth is still way beyond them.

I agree. It's no big deal. Animal, mineral or vegetable; I'll DO anything TO anything.

gameplay GDC 10: Developer Walkthrough (Cam)

still hanging to my "poor man's mass effect" statement, it has great potential but it looks quite clunky and linear

Definitely looks promising with some parts, really rooting for Obsidian to be able to pull off a complete game unlike most of their other efforts (which had good cores, but faltered in most other aspects). The multiple delays are a bit worrying but I'm still hopeful. It's nice to see a modern dayish RPG for once.

Gameplay looks good , but what's with the jumpy animations ??? blocky low polygon models and those bad pop ups, it looks like all this time they wanked a lot when this game was in development , it looks that bad!!
what version of UE are they using ? 2,5 / 3 or / ME2 3,5

Think it's 3. They confirmed there'd be higher res textures at least on the PC version.
I still don't really give a shit. The game looks good enough to play.

I also don't get the poor mans Mass Effect. The gameplay in this looks far more dynamic and with more options on how to handle things.

The chars look like shit, the animations look like shit. Does this one try to be something deus ex like?

Look at his feet he looks like a fucking clown. And the AI is unbelievable stupid. WOW cursor changing it's size! Every fucking shooter, f.e. Counter Strike, has that too. The textures are popping in and still look like shit. And the DOF is going crazy Laughing

The main char looks so generic... No details at all. Talking about detail-> The detail maps look like crap. Everywhere crates .. the standard level design Element when you have no idea what else you could place there.

And the tank explodes but every soldier in there, though probably having vests on dies but this "important" arab just gets out of it without even having a little bit of dust on his fucking cloth.

Come on. Why are the developers these days are SO lazy? These are the small details you could change to make the game better!

I don't care much about graphics but the AI is just RIDICULOUS! Look at the guy that aimlessly runs at the player without even draw his weapon, or the guy on the turret that doesn't notice all his companions on the ground in front of him are being butchered... absurdly bad....

I never said anything about graphics yet, yes they're moderate but I they're pretty tolerable by me, the AI yes, it's quite fucked up, the delaying must have been just to work on it (read: make it more dumb) because one of the reasons the game was delayed was because it was deemed "too challenging" by SEGA

Game play looks mediocre. I will still pirate it since there will not be any good games coming out until the end of summer.

Facts & figures on obesity: Obesity is one the major health challenges worldwide and has become an epidemic over the last decades. Maybe it is the bland environments, bad 2004ish psychics like 10ton trucks flying threw the air from exploding barrels and of course the ever present shotgun that shoots in a huge spread, seriously after 20 years of putting shotguns in games won't they realize shotguns don't actually shoot like that?

Not saying the game will be bad but it isn't very impressive so far and usually the trailer game play is usually better than the actual game since it goes from clip to clip so fast you can barely grip what is happening.

Pre-order bonuses, consoles get either the extra weapon classes assault or stealth "kit" whereas PC users get the (Somewhat average) game Space-Siege (Been on offer for quite a while already but the two bonus kits are new.).

Do I need to have internet access to play the game?

No, you only need internet access to activate the game. After you have installed and successfully activated the game internet access is only recommended to assist in license management.

It's nothing like Ubisoft's retarded solution.

Myeah... I don't recall seeing any scene release with that protection? Then again I don't recall any game using it either, so it might just take a while longer till the groups figure it out.
