I never heard anyone speak during the beta, perhaps it's because I turned VOIP off in the option menu as I don't use a microphone?

Without tweaking i would say no. It will be playable but i doubt you hit 30 fps with that card. Your CPU should be ok.

With an 8600m GT you may be able to play at 1024x768 at low quality settings above 30fps.

i knew this would have been better than mw2, but i honestly didnt expect that kind of difference.
maybe a comparison between the 2 games is not really possible (or at least fair), but the fact is :
one is a WAR game where u need to show skills and serious team approach. no fag weapons or perks with pwning bonuses.
the other is an old style approach fps, with warfare guns, and tons of bugs.

i like mw2, but after only 1 day of playing bc2 im feeling like theres no match between the 2...

multiplayerwise this game is a mess.
it takes over a minute to refresh the serverlist then joining servers works 1 out of 10 times.
if you are lucky you get a server full msg othertimes nothing or your game might crash why trying to connect.
and when you are lucky and you are on a server there is still the chance that you get kicked by punkbuster for no reason.

not much fun so far Sad

I thought they were gonna fix the server browser with the day0 patch?

As of last night, even with the R4 server patch/files, there are still some issues, such as crash to desktop and server browser/friends list. I had a CTD 3 or 4 times last night myself. Seems as though enabling filters just locks the game up and often times in the friends list or browser, it will say "the data" or some shit like that for the name/ping/map, etct. Hopefully they'll get the remaining problems sorted out soon. Overall the game is awesome though, despite the issues.

Thankfully you can sort now by name, ping, etc. So that much has been improved over beta. I'm not sure what else, if any, has changed with the server browsing though.

Finished the SP campaign a few days ago and was very impressed with the smooth game engine, fantastic graphics and engaging gameplay. After playing the Beta I do feel that no jets will detract slightly from the atmosphere of the Battlefield series. I reinstalled BF2 today to practice in the helo as there was no opportunity in SP, and I had little chance in the Beta.

Unfortunately I have a dog to look after for three days, starting tomorrow Sad It's going to be chasing a lot of sticks and walked tomorrow morning so that it will sleep for most of the day so that I can have peace to play BFBC2 Very Happy

I read from one of the devs pretty much saying, "march we're launching the game, april we're adding jets" itll probably come in a map pack or some DLC. because throwing jets in most of the maps now would be silly since they arnt uber huge yet.

Once you find some servers you like, and add them to your FAVORITES. . . you can update just your favorites which takes a couple of seconds. I just went through, took the highest pinged couple of servers for each game mode, and added them to my favorites and now I dont have to wait for that HUGE list of servers to update.

sure,
here is dx10 with settings on high and AA in game set to x2

here is dx9 with AA to x2 in nvidia control panel

after really looking at everything, and changing all AA settings, it really only reduces the jaggies to a certain point but the rest of the screen gets a bit clearer but not worth the drop in fps to have max AA imo. however I dont think it affects much because im on a 21.5inch WS gaming at 1920x1080, so maybe jaggies are hard to see at this reso... idk

Well got a key from cdkeys.com.au for $35 (£23.79) - came within minutes.

Badmerlin on CODhacks was let down by his supplier. I opted for a refund along with a few others. Just posting cos I said I'd update earlier in the thread.

Only hassle is EA DL manager won't fuckin' preload till midnight lol - shoulda bought disk for 25 quid - still ... nothing ventured etc. Rolling Eyes
