Get the 180 gig plan (I use it)
OFF:

I read something about it being a paid service. For better or worse, I'll stick to my trusty private tracker. But thanks anyways. Smile

I just done another mnth for £7 hardly call that paid much its rather bloody cheap there is an offer on for $11 a mnth right now its worth it 20 connections unlimited speed and download ...

ill take usenet over torrents anyday....

thats if you dont have private tracker which gets releases 1-2 mins after pre huzzah for bots, and way bigger speeds than usenet.. and no risk of getting bad or virus infected file.. and if you dont want to seed. just pay for vip.. which is 1/5 of what ur paying to usenet.. and no im not sharing

Maybe one day, but as long as I can DL stuff at max speeds instantly after scene release, I'm quite happy where I am now. Smile

Apparently only r13 was damaged on that tracker and now I'm supplying it to the rest. Extracted without any problem and installing as I write. Smile

good glad u all got it sorted... regarding private trackers, thats fine but i just fine the whole shambles of torrents here a pain in the ass, id rather fire up my newsleecher, hit on supersearch find what i wand instant que and its away...

and one should always leech one file from any download option you have to check its not passworded or such, virus etc... common sense prevails regardless if its private tracker options or not..

each to theyre own i guess, but i just find usenet more robust...

I also use a site where u can easily see if anything is dodgy just like ur private stuff Razz

I really wouldn't install the german voices unless you can understand it without subs - crew chatting together isn't subtitled and the voice confirmations to commands are worthless if you don't understand them (there's a small window that shows them as text too, but...). Intro wasn't subbed either so had to skip it, guess I'll just reinstall with english voices, pity really.

The mouse responsiveness feels very laggy and jumpy, and I noticed one gfx glitch already (the cap in the intro mission has blinking binoculars Razz), but that could just be due to crossfire again.

Edit: hehe the wiki article is already updated:

Quote:
Within 24 hours of the game release, pirated copies have turned up on torrent and newsgroups sites with the activation disabled and removed, allowing users to copy and play the game without requiring to have an active internet connection as well as being able to play online.

Anyone tried that?

Enough with the private tracker discussion let us get back to the game.

Anyone else have trouble docking? I set it to travel mode and used time acceleration and the stupid crew crashed my boat two times, it let me dock and go through the cut scene but after that it gave me a game over. I am guessing I hit another ship or something. It should of warned me about that. Reloaded my save and did it a third time going only 4x acceleration this time and managed to do it successfully. Was annoying waiting that long though. Took like 10 minutes. Anyone got some tips for that?

It shoul warn you, I get a verbal warning and the time acceleration slows down when I get near other vessels, I also plot the course with several navpoints to avoid land and only enter the outer harbor area.
(More careful navigation afterwards, you only need to be in the close proximity for the dock icon to work.)

It didn't slow down, and I never got any warnings. I set the course using many waypoints and put the final one in the middle of the harbor near the dock. Dunno what is up with it.

Also, how do I choose a mission? I talked to the commander and he gave me the mission briefing, but when I used the option to start the next patrol he asked if I wanted to go on patrol without choosing a mission.

Here's a guide it explains the first mission and how you continue after that "picking the next mission".

Okay this is weird. My mission briefing screen is missing elements. It doesn't have the boxes on the left hand side listing the missions. It also doesn't have the markers on the map which the guide shows them selecting. I tried to take a screenshot of it to show you but it didn't seem to be working. Guess my game is bugged.

Looks like it might be a problem with the crack.

Nothing to compare against but everything seems to work here, guess it's related to whatever Skidrow did with their crack then although it could be some other things as well of course.

i tend to think it is crack related, i am unable to find any mention of this issue at subsim or the ubi forums.

English and German voice packs are installed as std anyhow, they are in the install root directory etc, all you goto do is copy then over.. Playing SH5 with English voices is an immersion breaker anyhow..

Well, looks like the crack is not 100% yet. Smile still, the game is nice. Too bad UBI uses the stupid DRM of theirs. Without it, i would buy this one not even thinking for a moment about it.

If any of you finds a solution to the mission briefing problem, be so kind and share it with us. Smile

Also an interesting side effect, which might be related to the crack is loading games. I've loaded a game saved during my stay in the u-boat pens, and well.. lets just say, that i ended up with lots of ship placed on land in the harbor instead of them being in water. Smile So half the german fleet in Kiel was pretty much lost when loading the game Razz

My sub also started underwater for probably the same reason, but i guess that one cant really sink, so it just 'surfaced' to its normal position. It was still funny to see the watch crew in the tower standing there while being completely under water. Razz

Oh yea.. and i cant seem to find the custom difficulty option for campaign games. I find medium to be far too relaxed for my taste, but high and realistic have elements i dont really like either Razz Did any of you manage to change the campaign difficulty to a custom setting?
