Nope ! I tried that too but I don't know PHP so.... this is another crack. You have to overwrite the Ubisoft launcher.exe and the game.exe nothing more...it's cake..
edit: As CAFEemu said cracking saves is possible too... let's hope he was right.

In short either use that "finger icon" patch program on AssassinsCreedIIGame or use a pre-"cracked" exe and then use UbiLauncher.exe as a replacement in the \Program\ folder for the install client, need to have a account and it'll say sign in and then launch the game within five seconds.
EDIT: Oh right enter anything when it asks for a serial (I used "1") and then click the gear icon quickly and disable online saving (Only needs to be done once, same as with Settlers 7 beta.)
Regedit key should be set to English as that'll translate the launcher, actual game translation is somewhere else unfortunately.

And we need a bit more of an effort to make the saves operate and we are game. Well, glad progress is being made. That should facilitate the work for the scene once an english version comes into view.

I spotted the saves in the Launcher directory ... Is it possible that they do work?
Edit: I managed to change audio language to italian ( As I'm indeed italian I'm most content with this) , but those pesky russian text is everywhere! Someone do something!
Btw I guess the release is still bugged. When I enter the Animus all I get is a totally white screen , it doesn't crash but it seems as text or something is missing.

Any time the launcher is updated the crack needs to be updated, using a account and registering to Ubisofts site is kinda like playing Steam games cracked with a real account, doesn't mean something will happen but you might be banned or however it works as you also need to be online for it to work.

Yeah, maybe triggers. But, I'm confident that tomorrow we'll have a fully working release. The game opens through steam in 13 hours. Also you can save. I don't think that you'll need to update the crack for launcher updates once the scene release will surface.
