On another note, apparently it is somehow possible for people in Europe to trick Steam into unlocking the game via VPN.

Go on, details Smile

I wouldn't know, really. You could try googling for some info. I am sure people have been trying to do that for a while Smile
I won't have access to my gaming PC till thursday evening, so it works out for me either way. Otherwise I might have done more research myself.

Main menu UI is really freaking bad, I guess the devs forgot how to make pc interface. Why doesnt it log me in automatically, why does it keep asking me to log in every single time, it even asks you to relogin if after playing MP you decided to play SP, and then MP again. I have one freaking server in my favorite list, why does it take so long to refresh that one server.
Anyways, is there a way to filter HC servers, because im not seeing it. Non HC servers are fucking stupid because of how many times you have to hit anyone to kill them. Lost count of how many times i snuck up on enemies with engineer class, unloaded my gun on them, getting hit confirmations, only for them to turn around and kill me while I start reloading.

Oh, btw, how do you get the stuff that comes with steam order (tommy gun, tracer gun etc)?

Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

wow just fucking wow, is it just me or this is the most PERFECTLY programmed engine EVER?

This freaking game is being played on HIGH with EVERYTHING ON 1024x768 (Low shadows BUT STILL) on a E6600@3.0ghz and a 8800GTS 680mgs, and under 1 gb ram. this is a pretty old setup, even with Vsync on!

Some may say its on sort of mid settings, but hey, 8800gts and 1 gb ram, i cant play MANY games without stuttering a LOT and yet BC2 just manages to make me feel like my pc is a superpc LOL, im amazed.

and this game freaking loads all maps in 15 secs, and the fps stay HIGH and TOTALLY STABLE, how the hell did they do this? WOW the frostbite engine just bited my brains out, it looks AMAZING, and it runs MAGICALLY PERFECT. wow, great fucking job, im so buying this game to play online.

Hehe the frostbite engine is great indeed; I've the same processor as you, 2GB ram, a 4870(1GB) and I'm playing smoothly at medium/high details (res. 1600*1200, AA2X) Smile

edit: btw, why have you got only 1GB ram? Your gaming rig maybe isn't exactly new, but with 2GB you would be able to play at decent quality nearly all the recently released games Wink

strange how you guys get way better fps then me and my hardware is better..
on high in both sp and mp, fraps shows my fps never going below 40 however the game feels laggy and Im fighting some frame lag while aiming a lot, so im forced to play on medium to get that smooth play.

this is at 1920x1080 with 2xAA, SBAO = off
im running a phenom II 965 3.4, gtx285, and 4gigs of ram, on vista 64.

on dx9 with everything on high the game runs great but i get jaggies from no AA...
i should be able to play on dx10 with high, seems how everyone else is unless you guys are just not noticing the slow downs, i think they come from the smoke....

Dunno what to tell you mate, but it runs gloriously here. Never lower than 40, often as high as 60s, averaging in the 50s at pretty much all times. DX10, 4xAA, HBAO, High everything.

Im having this too, even the game runs like butter (never goes below 40fps) average of 50fps +, it can feel little sluggish. 40fps in this game feels like 15fps. Dunno if the patch fixes this. Getting tomorrow my copy so i can test out patch.

Settings what i use are: All high details, HBAO is on and 4xAA/16AF @ 1080p, probably again some fucking crossfire issue or the engine just feels sluggish even at 40fps and its not fixable. Have noticed this on some other games aswell that engine is only smooth when you have like 60fps + -_-.
