twobells why do you keep posting that old February 16th nowgamer article? You posted or mentioned or quoted that article 3 or more times by now. i spent brief time on this forum and i already notice that many of your posts are sort of trolling or directed to fuel flame wars.
now i ask: where are direct comparison shots made by same person having both 360 and PS3 versions of the game using same HD capture card. it's already confirmed that 360 version doesn't have poorer rextures nor does it have lower geometry so it instantly questions credibility of that nowgamer article.

Where was that confirmed exactly? I'm just interested to know and I trust that you're going to link us to an article that contains direct comparison shots made by same person having both 360 and PS3 versions of the game using same HD capture card.
PLEASE . Please dont go off on another side by side rant on this title.....PLEASE. They take up pages and pages cant we just say "Yeah PS3 may look a lil better cool...but we'll HOPEFULLY get to play the 360 version several days early" That should be enough right there, lets focus on that. I think the release has been delayed because there are not enough people willing for the release. Everyone is too hung up on which version will look better , cant we collectively will for release and we'll argue over which system is better after they're both out. Meditate people , visualize the release.

footage is not captured by the same person but this is the best video comparison until media embargo is lifted on March 5th. we will get tons of professionally made comparisons after that day.

Nope, sorry I wasn't ever referring to that article, it's the first time I read it.
These are the two articles I referred to:
Meh i just played the game for 20 hrs and got fed up of it.
There are just too many towns and paths, I literally got lost and it took me over 10 hrs to find the correct story path.
Now after 20 hrs I am lost again in the sheer non-linear world and due to the crazy amount of options I cant decide what to do.
Screw this game, I´m back to playing Halo so I can feel like a real man again.
Towns! So this game wont be one linear action-set-piece piece of shit! Huzzah!
And "one linear action-set-piece" is a bad thing? Oh right, because all these "non-linear" german RPGs are so amazing. You get one horrible cutscene in the beginning and one at the end. Middle is filled with boar killing, irrelevant npc conversations, broken quests filled with crappy path finding and other issues. Yeah non linear RPGs sure are amazing. No really, tell me one good non linear RPG. Before you do it let me remind you that ME1/2 are linear, Dragon Age is linear and so on. The only not so linear good RPG recently was Fallout3.
Hold your horses, I think WHEATTH!NS was more talking about how the previous FFs were a bit semi-open, but there had been talk about this title being extremely linear in comparison. So I don't think he was saying it should be like Risen/Gothic, just that it's not completely linear. I can concur with him, I love cities in RPGs, I hate it when they release an RPG with no cities or even the slightest open environments.
But yes, I do prefer open RPGs like Risen even if it has the typical "kill x boars for me dear" quests. That doesn't mean I don't love FF though.
I was actually taking the piss on certain posters in this thread who felt that the "removal" of hubs turned this epic game into some still born monstrosity. Nenoriu just didn't get it and wanted to argue I reckon.
How did I not know this was coming out this week??? I've missed all the hype/previews as I honestly thought this had a september release on it.
Got friday off so thats a result.

That's probably because the idiots at Square somehow didn't know that Americans write dates in a different order from the rest of the world and announced the game with a big image saying "03/09/10."
I remember a big shitstorm that covered Kotaku with people arguing about which month it would be in.
That's probably because the idiots at Square somehow didn't know that Americans write dates in a different order from the rest of the world and announced the game with a big image saying "03/09/10."
There were TWO date announcement trailers, one for the US showing it as 03.09.2010 and one for EU which had 09.03.2010 at the end.
SE aren't idiots, the idiot is a guy who watched the trailer for a different region (but I'm sure those who thought it's coming in september are more excited now than those who did know it's march)
is it easy to know which region a trailer is for? it could be that i just never noticed such a thing. Would always check online for a release date anyway cos of the date issues.

The American trailer got posted all over the internet and on many international gaming sites before anyone realized an EU trailer even existed. If Square didn't want to cause this confusion they would have written it out or had that stupid guy in the video just say it. Alternatively they could have gone with an announcement method that wasn't nearly as cutesy and attention-whorey.
I'm sure that a lot of people around the world saw the video the day it came out and just decided to tune out until September. It's no skin off my nose since I figured it was the American dating system, but Square should understand borderless nature of the internet a bit better if they want to properly market their games.
