Ordered a Limited Edition key online today for £23. Wasn't gonna bother cos I bought shitloads of games lately but it looks like it'll be the current game to play if you like big team games on dedis. I like MW2 but haven't played it much and I think it may well be because whilst you can play with friends you can't join servers and play with "faces" who aren't friends but you know and there's not a lot of consistency like you get on your favourite dedis.

BFBC2 LE retail available in the UK here for £25
http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/productpage.asp?productcode=RM10001&title=Battlefield:_Bad_Company_2_Limited_Edition

I never buy Steam version unless it's dirt cheap or the game is Steam only.

I used this guy only a couple of days ago for Napoleon TW and the key came without hitch. I've used a few different sellers and never had a problem. This is the best deal out there for this game atm - at least that I've been able to find. So that's where I've ordered BFBC2 LE from.

http://forums.callofdutyhacks.com/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=44818

It's up to you but basically you'll get the same download EA are selling on their site ... for you it's $33,50

It's the CD key but does the same job - I've bought other EA keys from other sellers and had no problem activating and downloading.

Ppl should be aware that of course there are gonna be some dodgy dealers out there so please try and weigh things up properly before buying from anybody. It's not my intention to persuade ppl to use online key sellers. I can only post my own personal experience - that is not a guarantee cos I'm just a punter like everybody else. Wink

I tried to buy MW2 key from him last year, and all he did say was soon, or tomorrow, then next day they would say sry, not yet. hopefuly tomorrow, for quite some time so I decided to cancel my order.

Would be great if the same thing didn't happen with BFBC2, but I guess he'll just keep saying 'tomorrow' without keeping up to his promies.

Actually there were massive problems with MW2 cos Activision blocked a big batch from Singapore. Many had their keys revoked by Steam - me included - and all the resellers were left scrambling about trying to get new stock and I mean ALL. That's probably why you were waiting so long. It's rare that this happens but with MW2 being a big seller and Activision using their clout it had an impact. Steam don't block their games (i.e. Valve titles and many from other companies) but had no choice in this instance. I was lucky - many ppl had their MW2 key blocked the day after release. I played for over about 10 days before mine was and by then the new keys were starting to arrive and I had a replacement within 24 hours so no real effect on me.

But like I said it's up to the individual. If you got a refund then that in itself would suggest the guy is at least trustworthy. I had a similar problem with a game and another seller - I was refunded.

All I know is I ordered NTW key from him about 3.am Sunday morning before I went to bed and when I got up later that day it was there in my email.

Anyway - I'll post back with whatever happens with my order.

You're not supposed to patch that version. You are launching the game with the wrong icon/executable. Fail....

If that was the case then it musta been a preorder like mine was cos some keys were blocked the day after release but they didn't all get blocked at once. Like I say - mine took 10 days to get revoked but I knew I had one of the batch cos they started with a particular code which others had posted early on. I though I might just been lucky but no. Once they started blocking that lot the sellers run short of working keys very quickly and that meant there was a queue of people starting to form for new keys with not enough. It was bedlam on all the sites and people were going crazy. But after a couple of weeks it was all back to normal.

The way I look at it is, it's a chance you take. You might get some hassle but you can get hassle with a game that you get bang on time. Plenty of tech issues can stop you enjoying a game for weeks before a patch is sorted and like I said earlier - I bought shitloads lately. I always have more than enough to play so I don't get that excited when waiting.

That Jet is Your Jet! - Battlefield 2 comes with an advanced, technologically breathtaking feature which allows players to virtually "claim" any vehicle they want. You accomplish this by saying "GET OUT OF MY PLANE YOU FUCKER" repeatedly when somebody boards a jet you really want to pilot. You can claim any vehicle you want, but there's really no point in reserving any vehicle besides the jet or attack chopper because, really, those two are so awesome and you look like a real badass when you're flying them at 800 miles an hour into the side of a mountain while typing in racial slurs and trying to punish people for team kills they haven't committed quite yet.

I saw this posted somewhere and thought it was funny because its so true. I remember playing bf1942 and the spawn killing around planes/choppers was insane and its the same all these years later..... ahhh good to have a new battlefield back on pc Smile

They did makes some changes. Certain weapons will do 25% more damage now, I think it was posted here as well a while back. I can't remember the details, but it affects high RoF weapons more.

Edit: oops, thought you were talking about MP mode...
Dying more than usual compared to what?

Christ, I have allowed myself one game to purchase and with so many about close to release, AC2/SH5/BFBC2 and released NTW etc hard to choose, i thought that i wanted SH5 but that might with luck get cracked and ive only ever played sp on subsims anyhow,, AC2 i got on 360, NTW not sure of as already got ETW anyhow..

So that leaves BFBC2, now it looks ace, and alot more fun than MW2 bullshite, but is it really worthy of my wonga? Very Happy

Limited edition BFBC2 in uk is £24.99 seems good price as £10 off if i buy it before pre order up on site..

Yay or Nay eh ? Im already 90% yay but keep getting torn when seeing other games Very Happy

I wanted to buy from Game, quite cheap with a pre-order, but they didn't have the beta. So I went with Steam, I had some games on there anyway. I don't buy games often, so it's not much of a difference.
