So I thought "time to grab the whole Stalker shabang"
I went to the store page: "Clear Sky" - check, "Call of Pripyat" - check, "Shadow of Chernobyl"... no check? O.o
So google had to go to work for me and I now just realized that as a german customer I cannot buy SoC through Steam.
Fuck you Valve, fuck you THQ.
So now fellow germany-based humpers (now how wrong did that sound?) what ways are there for me to get SoC on Steam? (and all those other games that are not available for german customers)

Maybe it can be gifted?

Sweet, got my friend to gift it to me. Downloading right now! Definitely a bargain; £10 for Spellforce games AND the expansions.

not a direct steam deal, but a good deal nonetheless
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II for £5/$7.50 on the THQ UK shop Smile
had no problem buying the key with my german address/creditcard and activiating it in steam.
( i did get an error page after purchasing, though. but got the confirmation email with the key instantly anyway)

Did they ever update HL2 and EP1 to the source engine EP2 uses? HDR, better textures and blood effects or something like that. Console version of Orange Box had both games improved and on PC they were suppose to update it later but knowing Valve I wouldn't be surprised if it's something they're still "working" on.

Not that I know of. Valve says a lot. Remember they were updating CSS to the Orange Box engine? Didn't happen. They stopped talking about it altogether, so I presume they gave up years back.

FakeFactory Cinematic Mod (12 or whatever the latest version is, 25 or so GB haha.) does exactly this while also revamping all textures (Needs 4 GB ram min and preferably x64 OS.) the character models are optional if you don't like the style of them.

Damn you Steam and your awesome deals that make me spend money and buy games I'd normally not buy! Evil or Very Mad

First off, I didn't think it was that bad. I wasn't as good as Deus Ex but it wasn't bad (my opinion). Second of all it was only 2€ more and I'm more than willing to spend 5€ for one awesome and one good game.

So are any of those big mods working with the steam version of Deus Ex 1?
And if yes, can you recommend some nice ones? Smile

There's Shifter mod which fixes and tweaks many things in the game, not recommended for your first playthrough.

There's The Nameless Mod, a total conversion mod with a whole new storyline and stuff.

Then there's HDTP, which improves graphics quite a bit but isn't complete yet.

Steam - The Poopflinger

Left 4 Dead 2 at $20 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for $15 until Monday morning PST.

Also, they just put a pre-order of the "stimulus pack" of MW2. Funny how that thing is right now at the same price as the full CoD4 game Laughing

Calling something that costs money for the players a stimulus package is funny as fuck. Stimulus for Activision sure.

Rockstar week on steam:

all main GTA games(1,2,3,4,VC,SA,episodes of LC)
manhunt
bully
max payne 1 + 2
midnight club 2
wild metal

$/€42.50

also vice city is 2.50 for the next couple of hours.

i'd say episodes are worth it alone but then again who hasn't played most of those games even if it is a great deal.

I've already got almost everything out of the pack..so just getting it for stories is a bit lame. They should have have individual sales to go with it.

SS:SE-HD is now released (Funny way to shorten the title I know.) guess it'll be "released" by Skidrow shortly then. Smile
(Or whatever group will be faster, can't be that troublesome aside from future patches and updates.)

EDIT: 0-Day update patched files. (Unsure which were updated aside from the obvious archive file with the version number and the exe so it's pretty much all aside from the bigger all.gro main data file at 2GB, game itself being just above 2 GB .)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KCI0MR9V
(With NCF's and other stuff.)

EDIT:

(With a few minor tweaks here and there, same game but new engine and a few enhancements and additions.)
