Superb game Smile

I'm around 3 hours in (just started the parking garage level).

My thoughts so far on who the killer is :

 Spoiler:

no more spoilers.. the graphics are sublime, totally smacked my gob at the level of detail gone into the environments, the house, the emotions.. its just wow. Gameplay is fine, just basic stuff that I think works well. It reminds me of a classic serial killer novel, Se7en'esque dark environment and atmosphere.

Really loving this!

aye agreed. I really like the detective guy with the inhaler. Hes one of those characters that is likable, but not TOO soft and cheesey, they pulled it off well. He reminds me of the black guy from se7en Smile

I saw that too - the internet recommended not to download it because they experienced skipping and freezing with it (allegedly anyway). I've been playing fine without it so it's up to you, but since they didn't seem to list any bug fixes I'd say it's alright to skip for now and see what's what later on.

Happened to me. First scene when Ethan kisses his wife sound goes mute. Other scene, video is stuck but audio still plays.
Any way to get rid of the update? O.o

thanks twobells Smile

still waiting for my copy without taxes I hope (sent from Guernesey to France)

for the missing trophies, you have to replay the game ? or load a save game.
Offtopic, but I'm almost done on Uncharted for the platinum trophy. Need to play it on extreme

Replay the game, I tried to load a chapter and do my missed trophy but it just didn't like it.
What I did:

Missed 'birthday boy' trophy, so I finished a later chapter, loaded the prologue and completed it, all to no avail.
Perhaps there is another route, we'll have to wait and see.......

So I just played the butterfly and of course fucked up
 Spoiler:

I said fuck that, back to main menu, chapters, the butterfly, yes save I don't give a damn, loading screen with ethan's face and then black screen.
Fucking shit.
I love this game so far but stuff like that is really unnecessary.
Is that a general problem with the game or is my disc fucked up?

edit:
google assured me that I'm not the only one with problems like that.
It's kinda sad that Quantic delivered such an awesome experience (I have not been emotionally involved like that in a game before ever) in a somewhat buggy state :/
I guess there's no playing for me until they release another patch.

edit edit:
apparently I can load most scenes fine (haven't tried all of them) but chapter 3 scene 4 "the butterfly" won't load up. Well needed a break anyway, time to go to sleep.

So I got it to work again by quitting the game and restarting it. Whatever.
Well now it froze for real and I'm going to bed.
But damn this game is beyond awesome. The story is pure gold and am I the only one seeing this as a movie? For some unknown reason I'd cast Benicio del Toro as Jayden Very Happy

Well, so far it's not movie quality material in my opinion - it only gets away with it because it's a game - but I do agree it's beyond awesome. What I like most is just how unique it feels, as there's simply nothing else like it out there.

While it's nowhere near as bad as Fahrenheit, the story is a little manufactured though, and some of the scenes with Madison were unnecessary in their overt sexuality (her character in particular is really off the chart at times in terms of motivation!) - but thankfully there's always a great scene which follows and brings proceedings back onto an even keel - so it's easy to forgive and forget the games lesser moments (where you end up juggling chickens mid-chase for example Laughing).

I was really impressed with the voice acting as well. I'd say at its best it's second to none. I'm not going to spoil any of the scenes but obviously there are some really intense emotional moments that require convincing voice acting, and in many games that can either fall flat or end up as a cringe inducing wall of noise... but here they really nail it... so it seems a shame that some others focus so much on the very occasional bad line, or foreign accent.

Why are you glad you waited? Unless you qualify it your comment is pretty redundant.

Can't help as I managed that myself. It was really difficult, or it felt really difficult and intense anyway - but that's the magic of the game.

And movies don't do that? Very Happy
But I see what you're getting. Of course the story would need a couple of tweaks but I think it would, scratch that, could make an intense movie.
Good director, actors and screenwriters required, of course.

edit:
something I just realized, I believe Heavy Rain could be a game that is pretty fun to watch as well. Will try that with my gf later since she normally never watches me play anything because "it's boring as hell".

On reflection I think I hijacked your comment just to have a poke at the way the story is structured... because yeah I guess I would agree if it was re-written for the big screen it could be doable.

Spiderman, dont worry, quantic dream dont really need your money. Im sure they will survive and eat without it Rolling Eyes

As for the game, OMFG, there are some crazy twists, although im not sure I can call them twists as the game will play out differently for everyone, but my particular story just got fucking interesting, huge plot turns and I cant put it down. I turned it on at 12 last night and played right through til morning. Incredible. I think im closing in on the killer now Very Happy

About 5 or 6 hours in now.. it's just awesome. One of the best games I've played in the last couple of years.
It's really hard to put down the controller because the story moves at such a quick pace, but I forced myself to do it anyway because I don't want it to be over too quickly. I'm sure I would play this through from start to finish in one go if I didn't stop myself. Razz

Here's hoping there will be lots of DLC and a sequel or another spiritual successsor! (Fahrenheit > Heavy Rain > ??? > Profit!!)

As for payment options, you can use credit card or PSN Prepaid cards that you can buy at some retailers or on ebay or key stores. There might be other options too, not sure.

I'm glad I waited as people seem to have problems with it and by the time its in the bargin bin they should be patched up, I dont understand what you mean when you say qualify?.

Yes I am a cheap skate, I dont pay £40 for a game, £25 is my limit.
