Damages aired, the stupid scene just didn't bother to capture it. This happened once with The Shield too.

Hmm found it disappointing, season 3 completely ridiculous. Sure some suspects can move around freely and commit more crimes. There is no surveillance and none of their phones are tapped.

Season 4 is totally different, they take on topic of private military companies and their business in countries like iraq or even on home soil. I did not see episode 1 but it did premiere wed night.

What you said is completely ridiculous. There was no criminal investigation of the Tobins, and in case you haven't figured it out, Patty Hewes and her firm only do civil cases. The DA office was looking into the possibility of starting a legal case, but that wasn't really well. Smile

What the frell, Damages S04E01 is apparently NO WHERE on the Internet. Friday Night Lights was on DirecTV and it was always capped and posted as quick as anything else on basic cable.

You really assume I don't know the difference between a civil lawsuit and a criminal one? Never mind against better judgement I posted some criticism of this series and this often yields some personal attack. I probably should made a better case.

The main characters' acting is good, some of the others are mediocre at best. Dialogues are not inspiring. None of the important characters are credible including some of their plot twisting actions. Majority of them have too many skeletons in the closet and lying seems the norm. Too many plot twists, cliff hangers and plot holes. Irritating montage, the flashes forward. In order to make Petty and her associates (and some others) look smart everyone else gets dumbed down.

Okay now the 3rd season: While Petty was trying to retrieve the stolen/hidden money the DA's office was mainly interested in pressing charges against the Tobin family. The actions/strategy of the DA's office was totally brainless and unbelievable. Also what judge would give a guy who stole 10 billion dollars house arrest? The Tobin family are a bunch of complete retards, would you invest money in some fund of a retarded family?

Meh can't be arsed to continue. Mad

Anyway this is my opinion, if you like it, don't be offended.

Wonder if this will be capped at all? Direct tv only shows are usually capped?

Personal attack?
It seems you don't know the difference between civil and criminal law. None of the Tobin family other than "It's out there" guy were involved in the scheme. He was also the only one with an actual criminal case going on. And as you may know, white collar crimes are often not seen as serious as other crimes, thus defendants in such cases are released to house arrests because they unlikely to commit other crimes.
Patty was trying to find a link to the missing money, which the family did not know until later. None of the family members had an active investigation over, so they were free to move as they please.

That is more or less the situation in the series, this does not seem realistic. You really think that prosecutors aren't interested where the money went, how much was stolen or if family members were involved? Or do you think prosecutors take the word from suspects that they aren't involved? Okay it is not the prosecutors job to retrieve stolen funds. I never have claimed such.

Of course they were interested. That was a major plot point throughout the season. However during trial, they could only prove that Louis only played with other's money, not taking anything for himself. Joe was supposed to testify about the money, but then so and so happened.

But as you said yourself the DA's office did a lousy job. Anyway it was a TV-series adaptation of Madoff's case. Similar but also very different. The series is a joke. Then again can't make it too complicated for the targeted audience and the targeted audience for this series is women. It is a soap. That's why this irritating Frobisher character kept coming back.
