I'm not sure but I don't think that was David Cage, I think that was someone else involved with the game and he was really only trying to make a point about the style of Heavy Rain, rather than seriously suggesting you play through it just once because that's all it's good for (which is how many mistakenly took it). It apparently does have multiple endings and different paths to those endings.

Could be that both a producer and Cage said much the same thing - which wouldn't be unusual - but I wasn't actually disputing who said it, just clarifying it's meaning. In saying what they did, they aren't suggesting the game isn't built for multiple playthroughs, only how they would prefer people experienced it.

The game has multiple paths, to multiple endings. You can replay it as much as you desire, and the Eurogamer review in particular suggests you'll be hankering to do just that. What the producers of the game said doesn't contradict this, it's just that they'd prefer you put more emphasis on your journey through the experience and stand by it (rather than break the illusion and go back and try different things - like having a quick save before a critical moment in a Bioware game for example).

'a marmite genre'
I used to put marmite on everything, however it all came to a head when my hand got stuck in the jar.

well ive played through the game beginning to end, and i'll share my thoughts.
Its a mature story for a game, it doesnt go into crzy plots like farenhieght but becomes a cohesive story throughout apart from one minor plot hole that took me out of the experience. But to respect those that have yet to play it i wont divulge anything further on this.
The game is exactly what Quantic dream claim it to be, choices are the core mechanic here and there's many minor choices you make that do affect the gameplay. AAnd of course there are major choices that affect the game in a larger way.
Some have mentioned the games is a series of scene linked my a series of QTE's, to me i dont think what the developers were shooting for could have been done any other way, it really does create some tense moments. I'm not sure i would like to see this mecahnic re used over and over, but in the context of what this game is it works.
The graphics are superb, there's some minor glitches here and there, a couple attributed to that faithful glitch provider..havok. There is some screen tearing but essentially what we have here is an engine thats created a believable world. The little things that catch your eye, things that happen peripherally in the real world, so there is some attention to detail here. And being a breast man any game with a pair of tits in it is always going to get my vote
All in all, it is exactly what Quantic Dream said it would be, and i thouroughly enjoyed every minute of playing it. An evolution of the adventure game for sure...i can see its not for everyone, and i hope the hint of more adventures in this world comes to fruition.
9/10

What level of difficulty did you select dvsone and roughly how many hours from start to finish did it take to complete?
Any urges to replay, opting for differing choices this time round?

i played it on the default setting, a little over 8 hours for the play through. For me i'll play it again to see how i can change the story i know from the trailers there's scenes i didnt yet see. One of my characters died, there's a rather unfirgiving sequence nr the end of the game for one particular character, bad choice at the wrong moment and its all over for em. So definiatly reason to replay

GAME have reduced the game's cost to £37 squidlets:
Quote: | We are delighted to inform you that we have been able to reduce the selling price of Heavy Rain to 37.99 GBP
Your credit / debit card will be charged with the new, lower price upon despatch of your order, even if the price goes up again before launch! |

Dude its 37 quid. Buy it, play it, if you dont like it get it on ebay and youl make 30 quid back no problem. make sure you try to keep it in the seal so you can sell with a story like (bought the collectors copy, so this one has to go, great game)
It worked for me with bioshock 2 standard copy. I bought the SE edition and sold my standard edition 2 days after release for 32 quid.

I pre-ordered the standard copy with GAME, but with the recent price drop TB mentioned (to bring it in line with other retailers) I got it at £34 using some spare reward card points. Of course I've now got more 'spare' reward card points to spend there in the future... cheeky!

A lot of people and reviews have been sayin that there are many plot holes in this game. While I spotted a couple myself, I'm wondering if I missed anything because of the "different story by choice made" structure.
Can anyone use the spoiler tag and post what plot holes he found?

Im guessing plot holes may be down to the multiple story twists and options based on your decisions. It must have been hard to stomp out all plot paths when there are so many options; so I can deal with a few plot holes.
