I have 6 gb ram and it still stutters like hell sometimes, toggling v-sync helps for some minutes though until the performance degrades again.

Having heard that Aliens vs. Predator is the fastest-selling game of 2010 in the UK, Rebellion boss Jason Kingsley has spoken positively about the future, indicating that he wants to get cracking on a sequel:
“We’re delighted to see the game shoot to the top of the UK charts,” said company co-founder and CEO Jason Kingsley, speaking from Paris.
“We wanted Aliens Versus Predator a critical success as well as a commercial success, which we think we have achieved. We’re also in discussions with Sega about ongoing support for AvP, and also about a sequel to the game."
“I won’t say what stage those negotiations are in, but we would love to revisit the franchise. Fox are excited about what we’re doing, and we feel we’ve added value to the franchise. We would love to work with Sega again, there were a lot of things we couldn’t fit into the original. We are trying to do all the right things to make the franchise a success now and in the future.”
Jason also spoke about the game's critical reaction, currently sitting at 65% average:
“The reviews have been mostly good,” he said. “We’ve had three totally shit reviews by some Americans, which is a bit odd. Some of them were inexcusably bad. If you discount those poor reviews AvP is averaging high for us."
“Obviously in the past we’ve had constraints put on us, meaning we’ve released games that we wanted to spend a bit more time on, which have critically been a bit underwhelming. That’s always a shame.”
Kingsley confirmed he was referring to recent release Rogue Warrior when citing those constraints.
“We do the best we can given the circumstances, and hopefully we have enough time to make the best game we possibly can, and that’s what happened with AvP. With Rogue Warrior, we did the best we could in the timeframe, and I doubt anyone could do any better given the circumstance."

Ok , im the one of those who bought this game and had a blast from start to end. (didnt finish the predator campaign yet)
Mp is nice aswell.

The graphic is the ONLY good thing in the game....Anything else (Story,play,animations,multi,Aliens and predators aftermarket sounds) was shit.

While the game doesn't actually look bad, I fuckin' hate having to alt-tab out and in every 5-10 minutes just because my frame-rate drops after a couple minutes of playtime. I suppose this is crack related or something? Since you guys with retail don't seem to have this problem (or so I think).

I thought the Marines story was pretty good. I'm on the last level of the Predator story and so far I really dig it. I haven't tried the alien story line yet.
The gameplay is good overall, not perfect, but pretty damn fun. It's not an easy game to master and takes a lot of practice.
The multi is fun and will be better once the dedicated servers get patched in. Again, it's not a noob friendly game. I pretty much suck at it, but am getting better. The melee combat system takes some getting used to.
Shit, I dig the sounds. The pulse rifle sound is just like the movies IMO and I think all the predator sounds are spot on. Perhaps you care to elaborate?
I can see why some people don't like the game and others do. It's frustrating as hell sometimes because the controls can be a bit awkward and tough to get used to. None the less, if you are a fan of the franchise, it is a pretty good game. Is it perfect? No. But I'd give it a 8/10. It could have been a 9/10, but I don't think it was quite given enough time in development.

The game is teh bomb at MP and this thread got worthless a couple of pages ago.. full of crybabies and I nearly drowned everytime I opened it since...

Have u tryed lowering textures by 1?
Works well here, PLUS I dint notice any huge difference, execpt in VID memory usage which was kinda high imo.

i did noticed the same effect in necrovision, 1600x900 gets around 15/20 Frames more to 1920x1080.
tested at the same location ingame, to find this comparison.

EDIT: I got it. For everyone else that's stuck, there is a small little hole on the ceiling of one of the vent tunnels. |
