did you try launching the game from its folder (bin) instead than using the desktop shortcut?

I made it to run the game by changing that values in game folder in program files to change the "Cfg.RenderDevice" in the "config.ini" to 2. Now game run fine, but it seems like there is some bullshit with the video settings and ambient occlusion. I have to mess with that in order to make game to work. What I could notice from the beginning that this game seems much more better optimised comperting to original Necrovision.

Dont use the shortcut, browse the install folder and launch from there.

ATI or NVIDIA?
EDIT: To explain a bit the Russian version (And the original game before patched.) had some issues with ATI's recent drivers, using +dx9 as a shortcut to the game exe worked but removed DX10 abilities, the fix was to use ATI's main driver .dll file from Catalyst 9.1

Seems it still has that bug then.
EDIT: Place this in the same folder as the main game Exe.
(or use the shortcut trick above.)

Is the DirectX redistributable up to date?
(I think most games by now want the August 2009 version at the least, latest is February 2010 though.)
The +DX9 shortcut command should work however.
(That's how I played trough the Russian version until I tried the old fix of using that .dll)

Lutzifer: although we used to have .nl in the url for ages, this is still an english forum. Please use it instead. Dank je wel =)

Hellforces had it's moments (Satan in a corporate office environment.), as did that shooter sequel with skeletons and stuff, I also did complete Psychotoxic (mad cows, haha.) and things like Stalin Subway, Vivisector and many others.
(Gaming bondage kinda, hah.)
Mostly older games that had a bit of a budget feel to them and were quite clunky, some of the recent titles have been much better.
(And some like Operation Matriarchy were just really bad - but the design and concept were certainly unique.)

1C publishing really do usually release crap games, but this one is different. Anyone saying this game suck didn't give it a chance because it have much much to offer. Combo system, multiple weapons, multiple enemies, good balance, long levels with a nice diversity, very long game (in the first game when you though it was nearly over after killing the necro spider, you realize you're just halfway through and you gain spells). Gfx could look better, but they do use current technology. In fact, I love this game a lot more than bioshock2 which is meh in my opinion.

I skipped the first game assuming it rubbish.
Been playing this one and it suprised me, started out looking like it was going to be pure rubbish but i'm having alot of fun with it.
Finding the secret areas is cool and the plane mission was great.
Is the first game comparable?

game didnt start for me either, then i found this and works fine
"NecroVisioN did not start (silently crashed) until i manually changed the "Cfg.RenderDevice" in the "config.ini" to 2. Maybe that solution helps somebody having the same problem, if it does not change the number back to 1."
