Its not PIRACY they are after... its a smoke screen , we blame this and that on them even EA knows that ... so EA took in effect a 10$ plan to punish who ... the used-game market and get 10$ extra from used sales to remove contend that should have been there = you buy in store its a free DLC , used you pay 10$ for the free DLC , Pirate it and you get a Jtag and fuck them ... Ubisoft did the same here a U-play system that disables the used game market of they new games and contend
today battles aren't against Pirates every one in the industry knows that , now its not about "how to get hold of the lost revenue" from the would be buyers (pirates), but "how to get hold of the lost revenue" that traders and cheap players (used market) are accumulating
Very much true, they despise people reselling their games as eula states you don't buy the game but the rights to play it so you can't really sell it, merging the game into your account as Ea did it with securom prevents resale, they are thinking about it for years now how to implement that on the console market but maybe it won't happen any time soon since they sell more copies and their greed is satisfied for now.
Here's a video of a guy playing the review copy of Silent Hunter V, he unplugged the modem at the beginning of the video and could keep on playing. Later he reconnected. It seems there's quite a long gap for the game to "discover" that it has been disconnected, so it might be easy to crack.

Update 2/18: While playing the second mission in the campaign, I decided to disconnect my cable again and leave it disconnected. It took around 6 or 7 minutes but it eventually paused the game.

"If you're annoyed when you have to show your receipt to someone when you walk out of an electronics store, Ubisoft is not the company for you. This is like having to show your receipt every time you want to turn on your television. If your Internet goes out, if you're on a flight with no wireless or don't want to pay the fee, or if you're at a hotel that only offers for-pay Internet, you aren't going to be able to to play your games."
"This is fine," one self-professed pirate told Ars. "I only have to access the Internet once to get Ubisoft games. You're the ones paying for a broken copy."
that there its a good example how console players (cool smart looking dude) mock the PC gamer(dirty smelly peasant in some back alley of a redneck country , a scarecrow with no brain ) and how the smoke screen of the media works
