But i dont fucking get it, why changing the developer when bethesda did a fucking good job with fallout3 ? they want a FAILOUT 4 ?

Because Bethesda is doing Fallout 4 while having Obsidian do Fallout: New Vegas. They're expanding the franchise that they bought.

Right now they're making TES V, but yeah I'd bet they'll start on FO4 after that.

They work on more than one project at a time.

Fallout Tactics wasn't even that bad *duck*
but BoS was an utter PoS...
But yeah, people who think F3 was the epitome of Fallout and NV is gonna suck because it's not by Bethesda are retards who have no knowledge of the franchise *shrug* But what to do with them?

if you take it just as a tactical game, yea, it was pretty ok
i still find myself wishing i had those character controls in fo1&2 now when i play them
but calling it a fallout game is an insult
much like fallout3 was a good bethesda game, an above average rpg and a watered down fallout with only slightly more common ground than tactics had, and none of the charm

Fallout Tactics is pretty damn good in multiplayer. The singleplayer game is however really shitty.

I enjoyed the singleplayer once I got over it not being a true Fallout RPG. Decent for what it was, but yeah, it wasn't a scratch on the previous 2 games.

Some more details:

Quote:
* Opening sequence: Courier is executed with a headshot. No ambush.
* Character look creation: Mitchell holds a mirror in front of your face "I hope I put you back together properly so you recognize yourself."
* Character creation: G.O.A.T. is replaced with a psychoanalysis test.
* Weapons: picture of a hunting rifle included. Available modifications are scope, larger magazine and a 3rd one for faster load between shots.
* Weapons: picture of a normal and a unique 9mm Pistol. Shown mods: scope and magazine enlargement. One gun shown with both scope and enlarged magazine.
* Weapons: The unique pistol has a unique skin, engravings and a picture of Virgin Mary on the grip. This could mean that every unique weapon has its own skin. "These rare guns not only look UNIQUE, but have unique properties."
* Weapons: Concept art of a guy in the trenchoat from the teaser wielding a Fallout 3-style minigun (It's a little bit smaller though)
* Goodsprings: When you leave the Powder Ganger Quest unsolved, you'll encounter them later when they are more powerful.
* Goodsprings: You can convince Mayor Trudi to ambush the Powder Gangers with a sufficient sneak skill.
* Some choices you make during the game reveal their consequences far later.
* Some NPC companions will have their own quests too, not only Raul.
* Radar: A new yellow bar for companions is added by Obsidian.
* "Caps" are mentioned as currency, not poker chips or dollars.
* Hint that weapon modifications can be found in the wastes. (May be speculation)
* Some statements hint that the NCR and the Brotherhood of Steel somehow work together - you easily gain access to Helios 1 by having a good reputation with NCR and BOS
Dialogue with Fantastic in Helios 1 can be influenced with a high barter skill.
* Game world will be as big as the one from Fallout 3.
* Avellone on game development: "We are currently working on the dialogues and places. The rest looks pretty good for now."

Why people insist in that? every single Fallout game is good, and Fallout New Vegas will be too. Black Isle rocks! Bethesda rocks! Obsidian rocks! Post-Apocalyptic games rocks! I don't get why something could be wrong here; of course everybody will play and enjoy the new Fallout; I am 100% sure.

No, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (not Tactics, but the console POS) really is a piece of crap with no redeeming qualities.

That was developed+produced by Interplay.

Anyway, all other Fallout titles are good.

I recently replayed Fallout 3, this time doing evey quest and exploring each location but its so sad...it could be so much more! Sad
I put my hopes in New Vegas, may it shine!

Yeah it looks like they kept a large amount of Bethesda's assets from the game but the setting is new and it doesn't seem so "green" in terms of weather color anymore, which is nice. Smile
(Some tweaks and improvements of course like the companion radial bar, new weapons and enemies like the TNT thrown at a gecko horde and overall it looks quite good if still a bit low-res for texture quality but even if there's no "Geck", might be though, who knows, textures should be editable and Nifskope might allow model hacking once updated.)

I really don't like any engine that freezes the whole planet when you initiate dialog, games like Divinity 2 have some epic backgrounds when you talk to someone Smile so I still say Beths engine is crap.

After the phenomenal success of the GECK for FO3, I can't see Obsidian not releasing the same - or even some homebrew hacker editing the GECK so that it works with New Vegas.

It will be nice to see how Obsidian will improve the Fps shooter part of the game which in FO3 was badly designed Imho, even one of the producers from Bethesda admitted to that in an interview last year.
