Yeah..had the same problem using the ASUS Xonar. Had to change the sampling rate in both the CP and windows settings or else it would crash. Still the game crashes when using DX11.
Hope the ATI Catalyst 10.2 fixes the problem.

Tessellation ftw/ftl. There are 2 options: the alien tessellation example is not conclusive / tessellation is just another gimmick to spend (read "waste") money. I wonder which of these is valid.

Tesselation does what it's supposed to do. What do you expect from it?

To cook, clean and do laundry.
And perhaps some major fucking (or at least clearely noticeable) visual/gfx improvements.
Edit.
And I am not bashing it, if you feel like I am doing it... It's just marking a valid point that the alien example is not worth it to state it clearly as an impressive feature (as it was and it is presented).
And btw, in the heat of the battle gameplay I am NOT gonna stop and count the barely noticeable extra polygons on the alien's head.

I get heavy bugs in all areas of the game. Like vent transitions (cant just use alt to get out ov the vent), some weirld blur only on the bottom and left side of the screen as alien, stutters in pred campaign, sound problems...I'll buy it, cause it'll only cost me 15-20 bucks. Still , i hope they'll patch the problems or that they're crack related.
Not gonna play it like that...
Also , where do the saves go?
No, we have no bears on the streets here in Russia.

Plays fine here , still , uninstalled it after shooting the second alien while trying to get to admin.
Consolized shit, and im constantly amazed that the biggest torch anyone in the galaxy can find emits the tiniest bit of light, my friggin penlight gives off more light than those military torches lol. I could go on and on but i wont , glad i didnt waste my money on this.
Today it is my turn to be AN knobhead

Alien vision mode has that slightly "fisheye" or narrow look, as for vents and wall climbing it's a bit funny how some surfaces can be traversed but others can't, vents though do require you to press space (Or "jump") to go trough them as you can't just climb into them.

You sound like the Game Informer dude. How the hell can you complain about this game being too dark?

Agree with you there M3th0d. BS2 was pretty terrible, and this just might exceed my high expectations.
Played some SP Survivor. Man, those Praetorians are tough.

16 gigs? Goddaaaamn.
Devs keep getting more and more irresponsible about space just because they have DVD9s. They don't even think about the player. Their first thoughts are "How many discs can we use? Two? FILL 'EM with pointlessly uncompressed video, audio and graphic files!"
Seriously, there's plenty of well-compressed formats out there that have minimal impact on quality. Right now, I feel like half the game's weight is wasted in a terribly inefficient 2% increase in quality (OMG, it's HD!). Games aren't getting any longer nor deeper (in fact, it's generally the opposite), and graphics haven't improved dramatically enough so to justify a leap from 7-gig games to 16-gig ones.

AVP3= crappy console port sequel , nice graphics doesnt have the atmosphere or come even close to the gameplay of the originaland its sequel or to that point most of the pc based shooters.
Bioshock 2 = console port sequel were the controls are adequate enough to not diminish the gameplay.
If this is the future of pc gaming im selling my rig and buying another console.

What nice graphics? Textures are crappy and aliasing is bad as hell.

Textures are far from bad, and I haven't noticed any aliasing at all. Stop playing on low at 800x600 tbh.
