Any good mods for this (textures)? I have Complete Edition 2009 mod of Stalker and has 10 times better gfx than this.Argus Textures Pack and Sharper Textures of Clear Sky work with Pripyat?

could never understand the "immersion" people were talking about in STALKER games, severely unpolished series, it always feels like a 3D app to me rather than a game.

To top it off, it's set in the Chernobyl zone, which fascinates people to day. The fact that the Zone is populated with interesting anomalies, mutants and opportunistic treasure-hunters is only the icing on the cake. At least for me.

Any reason the game keeps crashing whenever I change the options when the shader is on DX9 or DX10?

Apparently, it was SMRTER mod causing it. I just deleted it and the game isn't crashing anymore. Oh well.

Yeah the smrter has a lot of inbalances and bugs, I'm in the process of cannibalising it and other mods for the best game improving stuff, so none of that extra spawn or more weapons sadly. I'm focusing on the audio and visual part of the game.
I'll upload the "package" once it's done, it'll be around 600mb packed and about 1.1 gb extracted.

Totally agree with ixigia on this, I was wondering whether to load this up tonight or start up the sins of a solar empire w/ expansions, I'll wait on stalker to take advantage of your efforts. Thanks for sharing.
Man I love this forum.

It is done!
It comes complete with a ton of audio and visual atmosphere improvements and better models and textures for most things
It will make the game look and sound as it should've from the start.
This package will serve as a base on which you can put other mods that actually change the gameplay or add to it.
You won't need texture or model mods with this though.
Just extract into your S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat folder and replace everything. It's fully compatible with vanilla game saves.
The "addon" package fixes the nightvision sound and improves the scopes and durability in the game. It's an optional installation, but I would recommend it. Same procedure to install as the other one, install this after the first as it is an addon
File 1
File 2
File 3
File 4
File 5
File 6
Addon
Also you can put the following file in your /documents/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat folder for increased visual stuff, god rays etc. user.ltx - remember to edit your resolution at the very bottom of the file with something like notepad.
Steve Jobs propaganda
It's amazing how easy it is to get Call of Pripyat looking so fantastic!, this mod is amazing and it's so simple to get setup. The sounds sound great the textures look great and it's just amazing!

This game hates me lol. It was working fine and everything (awesome job Epsilon) on DX10 but it was somewhat laggy, so I switched it to DX9 then low-and-behold it crashed after I tried starting up the game again.

That's what I've been doing. The game works fine on dx10 from what I've played so far, but when I changed it to dx9 (Full high dynamic & Enhanced) it crashes on start-up.

Can't tell you whats wrong, but as said you can try deleting the user.ltx file, the settings might not agree with your system.
Otherwise have you tried turning it off and turning it on again?

Well, I could play it on dx10. But is there anyway to tone down the view distance a bit? I'm pretty sure that's bogging down my fps even though it looks amazing. |
Go to advanced in video settings, theres distance sliders.

Thanks for the mod, going to test it now.
Edit...how do you install this thing?
I have no such folders as config/texture/sounds in my directory.

Epsilon you mentioned extra spawn and more weapons (as sadly not included)... are those working/worthit/etc.?
I didn't mind the relative sparsity of weapons/spawns in the previous two games, I'm just wondering if that's a problem with this one or summat.

Would you advise reinstalling the game? I have Atmosfear and SMRTER installed. Or will deleting the "gamedata" folder suffice?
