  • Publisher: Kalypso Media
  • Developer: Realmforge Studios
  • Genre: Simulation
  • Release date: March 12, 2010.
  • Local Play: 2 Versus/ 2 Co-op
  • Story/Description:

Quote:
Step into the shoes of a budding television magnate as you realize your dream of global domination through modern mass communication in this tongue-in-cheek take on running a television empire.

Recruit screenwriters, pick story concepts, hire the best actors your payroll can afford, deal with eccentric directors, build studio facilities and manage precious broadcast time slots to reach eight unique audience groups - all in the hope that your lucrative ad campaign contracts will pay off big! Of course, if you can't beat the competition with creativity and talent alone, there's always that well-placed act of sabotage to help slow them down. Play dirty or nice, it's your choice!

Reminded me of MadTv that i used to play on C64 if i remember right (or was it PC). But because whole genre of this kind of games has gone to hell, im kinda sceptical about this one. Well guess we have to wait and see Neutral

Same, MadTV on Amiga was one of my favorite back then Smile Hope M.U.D. TV won't end up like a Sid Meier's Railroads - a dumbed down sandbox version of original title.

German version has no copy protection at all. The game is fun, but not as intuitive as MadTV was. Takes some time to get used to.

Reminds me of The Movies a lot... but less good :/
Seems to be fun anyway though I was totally bankrupt after the first day because I apparently didn't fulfill any of my ad contracts O.o

edit:
reminds me alot of Airline Tycoon as well. Should replay that, was tons of fun.

if its anything like MAD TV, only take ads that require no ratings at all (0.0) to be on the safe side until you know what kinda viewer number to expect

Nice! This game is really very good and suprisingly there's a decent amount of depth in this.

No. I there is a german patch to take it to 1.06. First apply that, apply the en patch, copy over the english localization from the demo and then rename the /de folder to something like /de-old
simply changing the cfg to language "en" doesn't work, the de folder needs to be renamed.

Nope it doesnt need to be renamed Wink

I didnt and it works like a charm... and yes 1.07 ... had to take the german patches Smile
But i cant even beat the first mission on medium ... the other opponent is a pain in the ass with his better rating shows all the time Sad

I didn't rename it, changed it to "en" in the cfg file started the game and it was german. As soon as I renamed the de folder it was english.
did you use german 1.07 or english 1.07?

It really isn't that complicated, there is no protection. Install like you would any other games, copy a small directory over, done.
takes all of 2 minutes. If you're that lazy this game isn't for you.

I find it to be quite ponderous and a bit annoying.

i've had some really annoying situations like missing the ratings for an ad contract by a couple thousand people.

Remember ad contracts tick off 1 day regardless of when you take them, they're not 24 hours.

So take a sweet 1 day ad contract an hour before the end of the day and you're screwed. It'll default out on you. Seems like a poor design choice.

I beat the first mission, second one is a time sink. you got level up these mobsters so you can get them to produce a really high quality script so that they will get huge viewership.

I find that there is both too much information and not enough information

it can be tough to remember which ad contracts you need or which shows you need to fulfill ad contracts you have sitting there. Which requires a lot of back and forth unless you want to start writing stuff down. THey need to let you access your programming data when you're downstairs where you can buy stuff.
