So what do you think about the demo?

I liked it, the gfx are stunning and very life like. Personally i thought Shelby was the best animated person i have seen in a game to date, while Lauren looked odd in some angels.

But def not for everyone.

Well i loved the demo, wish it was a bit longer but that would spoil it i guess.

I'll definitely buy this one, i might even pre order if i can find it cheap in the UK. any one know the cheapest place?

Graphics are very nice, characters are very beleivable and the fight scene is great, i played it a couple of times to see the different outcome Razz

Hmm Siren I purchased the whole thing but never played it beyond a few chapters.....
I loved the idea that I could purchase an entire game through PSN on the release date but wish it had been a bit better or perhaps I had enjoyed it more.....

There was a little more than three people going on at the highway scene! i can imagine it's boring if this is not your type of game..

Create a UK PSN account, it's region locked I believe.

You read my mind. I want something like the system in Blade Runner - otherwise it's a lot of hocus pocus for nothing surely.

I played the demo for a while and it's awesome. The only problem is the lack of v-sync. I'll buy it later this year.

I just played the demo and graphically it's very nice during the first scene with the hooker. The crime scene though, is so blurry and out of focus it made me think that my eyes were failing me.

The control scheme is highly questionable aswell. I couldn't think of any good reason for the way in which they've implemented the characters movement. It seems pointless to me and felt worse than resident evil 1 in terms of moving around an environment. It's so clunky and thats even before you add in the multiple button depresses to perform a basic task like walking up a tiny slope. It just seemed like a chore to me, but with that said I'd maybe buy the game second hand at some point but it would have to be very cheap.

I had the same problem - if you read my first impressions I say the exact same thing - but do try it again, only this time turn up the gamma! The default setting was too low for my setup and turning it up made a huge difference. Maybe it will have the same effect for you. It'll still be blurry in the FBI sequence due to the rain and the post-processing - but it felt more artistic than gimped. Your mileage may vary but give it a try if you haven't.

Controls are awful though I agree, and because they can be so fiddly they take you out of the game and seem to over complicate things for beginners. I've read some people suggesting it might be that they designed the game with Sony's motion controller in mind - and the controls would make perfect sense with that - but it still doesn't explain the absence of a proper control scheme for dualshock users.

That's exactly what I thought (French Review from gamekult says exactly the same : first part of the game is boring)
But ... those scenes are probably not in order, so we missed elements between those scenes ... well I hope so.
Graphics are nice but its too dark on the crime scene

The demo was nice, but I will definitely wait until reviews are up. This game is all about the story, and I wanna make sure it doesn't get shitty later on (I don't want to know the story, just that it's not as bad as Fahrenheit).

http://www.precinct52.com

Just register, answer the email, log back in, follow the instructions at this link:

http://kotaku.com/5464839/want-the-heavy-rain-demo-right-now-heres-how

Then you'll receive a code which you input into your US account under 'redeem code'.

Good luck.

This game should be 90mins to be amazing.

The problem with this game that it's a movie. But because it's also a game it cannot be 90mins. So they added ALLOT of crap in-between cool parts to extend the gameplay.

Eurogamer podcast has some commentary on the game that is promising; Eurogamer. They say it's an intentional slowburner but that the payoff is worth it in the end. Overall they sound very positive - but it's not a review, that's coming Wednesday.

It's not a movie, it's a game, and many dramatic TV shows benefit from the extended air-time they are given. Still, it's probably best to play the game in full before making judgements as to how long it should have been.

See game dev's demos do sell games (and consoles)

I thought the controls were clunky though, but I can live with that.
