im not in the mood for it. gonna wait for bioshock 2. Very Happy

meh don't think they're depressing at all , but in my play style the game gets tedious as hell
imo a game can get depressing is a game you dont enjoy but still keep playing
i'm really looking forward to the experince since some levels look really amazing and once it'll get going i'm to be compelled to finish it .
first off i noticed that precision is sky high compared to clear sky , i couldnt kill shit without an almost point blank range and ironsight.

i'm interested if the translated version is better than the official english one

+1

the original was one of 2 games who claim to change the FPS forever at 2002 - 2004 and i am talking about stalker and half life 2, and half life 2 after long long wait and many release dates changes came to life with some changes , but still was great game and if you ask me , many new games even today use creatures inspaierd by HL2..they did something to the gaming creators and staker lost it's track and came out years later unfinished and full of bugs, but still found it's big fun club somehow against all the chances wich i am not included in.

That was a problem with the original game, something with the working directory. Either launch it directly, or launch it from a shortcut or something, I don't remember exactly.

Launch it differently from what you're doing now, lol.

acutally you have to create a bat file (use notepad) , name it whatever you like and it should cotain only this line

start bin\xrengine

it worked for me

X-ray 1.6 engine has stopped working on win7 x86

Looking forward to play this. Now the only thing I would like to see added to the stalker series would be snow Smile Last time I checked, Ukraine can be pretty cold so how about having blizzards in game and being able to track enemies by following foot prints in the snow.

Tried a bit and I'm stunned how unnatural the game feels when it's this smooth. Very Happy

Using the crack and no crashes, no slowdowns, most stable and well-optimized STALKER to date (although I never had any crashed with prevous games either, and finished both several times). I was shocked that my 7800GS was able to handle almost max graphics at startup (getting serious stuttering in the ship though, but I can live with that).

BTW: is there a way to sell badly damaged weapons for profit? If they are too worn out, the repair takes more money than it would to sell them. Other stalkers don't seem to be too keen on buying them either.

WTF? You can play this on a 7800GS?? That's great news! Then I will have no problems with my 8800 GTS. Nice to see they managed to optimize the game to the max. Smile

The graphics is better than first two games = Check!

The gameplay is the same as Stalker, same forumla, same style, same sound.

My score so far 8/10

It gets boring after few hours,

I am going back to Mass effect 2,

Holy shit.... this is definitely the best optimised of the trio! On launch it automatically set Full Dyn DX10 lighting *and* set the graphics options to Ultra high, yet it's still running gloriously! I get 45-70 right now, which is damned impressive for a STALKER game Very Happy

Definitely liking it so far.

Yeah, 4870-1GB. Game is still running immaculately! Absolute lowest so far is 40, though it averages in the 50s, and peaks in the 70s.

Huh. You're getting better performance than I was in the russian version with my 4890. Downloading the english one now, maybe they've optimized it more.

Just dove into the game. Hardly had i started stalking and already got stuck in the beginning. There are five helies that need investigating or searching off for some clues on how they have crashed and there is one particular of the five that's standing on some middle-high cliffs. Problem is i can't climb up and reach it. Tried skirting around (nothing but deadly anomalies and drunk roamers about) but no luck whatsoever. There's a nearby mercenary base (name of it started with a 'Z' as far as i reckon and there were big water/gas pipes soaring over) and figured there might be a subterranean passage or tunnel but none of the sort was present. And that no-reaching of the helicopter has really gotten me off my nerves already. Any tips?

Me too!! God damn it.. I was hoping someone here would know how to get up there, but I'm at the same helicopter Sad The walls of the canyon are too steep to climb, there doesn't appear to be any footholds or anything :\ On one side there's a fire trap anomaly and on the other just high cliff walls.

Sarcasm or seriousness? :\

=Edit=

Hahaha! Ok, you were serious - and I'm a blind muppet Laughing I even had a QUEST MARKER tell me to do it, I just didn't look because I'm an idiot.

What. I just told you how to get there.

Edit: Oh, and I suggest using some graphical mods from SoC. Used one of the weather mods myself, and with some tweaking it worked perfectly. It looks damn good too.

Edit2: Then again, I'm sure there are quite a few mods for CoP out now.
