Its like someone making a scary movie then at the last minute deciding that its too scary for most people and decide to dumb it down, so your fatass aunt rachiel isnt afraid to see it.

Bad idea imo, their going to lose the primary audience and pickup a few casuals that won't stick around long.

EA is retarded though, dunno why I would expect anything but this kind of non-sense.
streamlines sells , unique games don't and thats a fact ... Mirrors Edge was a financial flop , Dead Space finished second still not a winner in the financial standards but it held then came Dead Space : Extraction point on the wii that was a flop another game that didn't sell that was good ... now they made Dates inferno a average clone of GOW and they know that so after they researched the marked what sold the most ...they saw MW2 and RE5 and ME2 so is logical they saw action sold the product ... so now Dead Space 2 no more horror but with more bang action

soo.. this response from EA

Dead Space has sold roughly 1.4 million copies since it was released in October 2008, a figure that makes EA's Glen Schofield "happy" and bodes well for its future as a franchise

Wii sales were bad but not because of dead space, more because the audience on wii is a demographic that doesnt buy horror games. EA knew this, plus didnt advertise what-so-ever. It was basicly a market test on wii...

They release a game to a known "bad" market intentionally, that doesnt give them a free pass to change the entire game to a dumbed down RE,doom3 etc. Sure they can do whatever they want its their title, but patronizing us with that wii crap is not an excuse.

Damn! I miss "The old days" when a lot of my friends didn't play video games. I had to live with them seeing me as a nerd because I was a gamer but I didn't have to live with a lot games getting made primarily for those guys, today it's a different story, Imho gaming has been accepted as a hobby/ sport by the majority, at first I thought that was great but now I would actually prefer to be one of the few geeks as we would probably get more interesting games.
Most games nowadays is like bad Steven Segal films because the majority want's that kind of crap Sad

http://www.bluesnews.com/s/107212/no-pc-dead-space-2

Those EA Financials from earlier had one last surprise, as the listing for Dead Space 2 in their Fiscal Q4 2011 has the entries for consoles and handhelds ticked off, but there is no mark under PC. We inquired if this meant the PC edition was coming at a later date not reflected on that schedule, and were told by EA public relations that: "As of right now a PC sku is not in the plan." Our requests for an explanation went unanswered, so we don't know the reasons for the change. On a related note, the remainder of that Dead Space 2 teaser image is now online.

If it's gonna be action-oriented generic-shooter crap, then they can keep it on the consoles, lolz.

I hope they also narrow the field of view a little more, 60 degrees should be fine. We don't want console turds' minds to get overblown by too much sensory input. Laughing

Unless it's a planned marketing action to hype the game with "OMG !!! DS2 on PC got cancelled" spreading thru forums. Then game took such a u-turn Shocked , earlier previews stated that the game got a little bit more action oriented and epic but from latest news the game dropped horror part and now there is much more action and epicness. In other words game got MAINSTREAMED which leads to cancelation of PC version Very Happy

No PC version? Skip. Seriously, if devs want to start canceling PC games like Dead Space 2 and Alana Wake under the guise of "piracy", it's time to start adding MICE and KEYBOARDS to consoles.

If Dead Space 1 didn't have amazingly shit mouse controls, maybe it would of sold more. It is not rocket science.... Then again maybe it is, because Carmack is the only one that truly perfects mouse controls. Fkin hell, i loved DS1.

Don't worry, he's a pussy for consoles now. Rage will be the same kind of crappy port all other games are these days.

poor sales on PC aren't mainly due to piracy, when you release a game on consoles and delay the PC release for many months it's only logical that people would buy it for the consoles, there are many PC palyers out there with consoles too, and they just can't bother waiting at least 6 months just so they can play it on their favorite platform

This.

Same shit with any number of console ports. They come out on consoles, PC gamers have the choice of either waiting 6-12 months for the PC counterpart - or buying the console version. Most gamers who own consoles as well (and let's face it, a 360 costs £120 - it's not hard to get one of those to go alongside your shiny powerhouse PC) won't deal with the wait. Then, when they want to milk the last drop out of a game that's a year old, publishers release a shitty port-job on the PC and cry like little bitches when it doesn't sell very well.

Proving the power of internet hope, EA's Jeff Green has announced today that, despite earlier reports indicating otherwise, there might still be a PC version of Dead Space 2.

"Rumor fact check", the ex-games journo and now Electronic Arts employee wrote on his Twitter account today. "There *will* be a PC version of Dead Space 2. Worry not!"

There were a few technical issues with the first game (Mouse lag if Vsync wasn't disabled for example, or something like that.) and it apparently only sold 36.000 copies (Retail, US only data apparently so the actual number is a bit higher.)

Would be nice to see the sequel and having a proper PC version instead of a later PC quick ported title though.
(Or should I say it would be nice to see a better quality port instead of a lower quality one?)

Just for reference, the mouse problem was that it took a certain amount of speed to move the crosshair. i.e. if your mouse was moving too slow, it would not register. It made aiming.. umm... tedious to say the least.
