So weird that the english version hasn't appeared yet. I thought there would be more people waiting for this game... I guess ME2 and COD:MW2 (both good games but nothing that special IMO) are the new trends now.

Sooo... does the european release come with russian speech? Im trying to find a retail copy with russian speech and english subtitles but maybe thats only possible by getting a russian copy and downloading the english subs myself....?

The "fan translated" projects available (Like the Google project one, just hosted there by the way, that's not it's actual name though I don't remember it at the moment.) are very accurate and also provide full subtitles for many of the conversations even outside of the main storyline whereas the English official translation is a bit more "free" (As evident by comparing the voices from the Polish/English version and the translation mod's text.)
The translation is however much better than the two previous games (Based on the voice.) and edited to be more in tune and fit so both are viable choices, however the easiest at the moment is to grab the Polish "Eng" audio files (They should be identical to the English versions audio, no sense to record the same lines twice after all so to say.) though they still use a light Russian accent (It's sort of a trademark of Stalker's voice acting now, hah.)
Anyway it's uploaded and available (Link earlier in this thread to both the audio files and text translations.) and GSC does allow modifications like this so it's not "illegal" or anything (They even allow the download and reusage of beta material - Even in other games if credit is given - and even released a early alpha version themselves.)
Once the official text translation is ripped and uploaded (Should be trivial, I can do it myself if you upload Configs.db from the /Localized/ folder or /Configs/ folder or what it's name was again.) you can simply switch between both of them by using them as modifications.
Unsure if 1.6.002 was cracked (Trvium did the 1.6.001 update and 0x0007 or Reloaded Germany did the German version.) if so you only need the Russian version and apply the patch to that, alternatively the German or Polish version and compatible patches albeit the xrGame.dll file and other core files might differ aside from just StarForce - SecurROM protection differences (Which would be in the EXE anyway so just delete Protect.exe and .dll and replace it.)
Bit of a messy description, sorry I'm somewhat tired at the moment, hope this helps, game has been available in full English for a while now already although 1.6.002 takes care of most remaining bugs and I suppose mods like "Stlker Complete 4.1" or what it's name was can fix up the gameplay a bit plus other additions or just smaller mods, that said they're not really required, base game works quite well as it is, recommended for a first playtrough to be "vanilla" or what the term is.
(Unmodded is what I meant with that.)
EDIT: That said once it becomes a bit more available I'm sure it'll be cracked and released as per the "rules", haha.
(SecuROM shouldn't cause much of a issue.)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat takes PC gamers once again into the vicinity
of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986. This so-called "Zone"

through by the so-called s.t.a.l.k.e.r.s, modern fortune hunters, in search
of unique artefacts. In the role of Agent Alexander Degtyarev, who is dressed
up as s.t.a.l.k.e.r., the player has to investigate the mysterious
disappearance of five military helicopters and thereby stand one's ground
against the various s.t.a.l.k.e.r. groups.
