This is typical for all of the metal scene..
You cant make a new genre for every new band out there..
Offcourse they arent "true" death-metal.. But then again who is? Death? Possesed?
And whats the use having 4000+ genres?
And Meshuggah defines themselves as Technical post-thrash..

I don't even care - last time I was in their studio, Fredrik gave the band this definition, in reality - they don't bother much.
But death metal?
Meshuggah is built on timings, riffs, poly's and Holdsworth-inspired solo's.
You might as well call them Industry Goa.
