I got 20/30-35 fps also (winxp). E6600 @ 2.65Ghz, setting dont seem to do much even a lower resolution.
But overal its very playable for such framerate.
Hows your average framerate, INatan?
Dint got much problems with lag anymore, depends on the server also, but i played on some dutch server before, and it was all smooth.
I like this game, Been playing with recon class most of the time.
sniping feels good i like it!
U can also unlock some artillery for recon class, works pretty well at those campers 
And one clip needed for a kill is bshit, i think its stable.

Getting shit performance here at Quad Phenom 2 925 @ 3.4Ghz with HD4850 @ 850/2300 @ 7 x86. It's good at start but often fps falls to 15 for no reason, and generaly after few hours it's unplayable.

i hope the final product won't have these optimization problems or whatever the problem is
but maybe the problem is the ATi graphic cards?does the game behave the same on Nvidia cards?

Performance got slightly better after the patch but for me it's still way too low. Running around @ 30 fps is not something i enjoy.

did you try turning off hbo something in advanced options..
got e8400 @ 3.7ghz 2 x 9600gt , and running max at 1680-1050 around 30-35 fps, doesnt feel laggy
not like shity crysis where without 40 fps it feels like lagfest

I have played the ps3 beta, 360 demo and now the PC demo. I am running it maxed settings. For some reason the console just seems more fun for me to play and I am by no means a console FPS person. Which sucks because I preordered it on steam already. Maybe it is the lag issue. Don't know it is weird.

Why do people post that MW2 is better???
FFS BC2 is a BETA!!!! 1 level 1 game mode, and yet you all base your assumptions that MW2 is still better, get over yourselves, MW2 is a COMPLETE game, and yet in the MW2 thread you attack it left right and centre for its failings.
My opinion is they are 2 different styles of game, MW2 based on small objectives on small maps just a fragfest of gaming. BC2 more open warfare, still a fragfest but with real opportunity for team work.
Seriously, stop fucking comparing a BETA to a full release, wait until BC2 is out and complete to judge, and seeing that DICE have already patched it once, guess they will be doing it loads in the next month.
