There's no set key by default, no... you have to add the block skill to your hotbar to use it. I basically have block (on a dynamic hotbar, so each weapon has its own skills loaded automatically) on RIGHT MOUSE, like it should be =)

Dying? In THIS game? *laughs* You're kidding right? I'm lv25 now and have only died ONCE in the entire game... and that was because I got swamped by five Persian Masters, all smacking me with their spears at the same time Sad

Might just be me but the music played at the Windmill tavern feels very similar to the music in Divine Divinity 1 also what's up with the "ringing" noise in that area.
(Searched everywhere but can't find where it originates from, might have to enable noclip or something to find out from where it's coming, similar to the constant battle sounds in the hill city where the game starts, though I never found the actual source for those.)

The crabs are really easy. Take them one by one and use your hammer. Role to the backside of them hit them 2 times and role again.

Finished it! ^_^ 15hrs 22mins, thoroughly enjoyable - if a little buggy and VERY unoptimised. The ending was a huge let down, but the overall gameplay and story was enjoyable and I'm glad I played it.

Definitely a Fable clone, though all it's done is made me pine for Fable/Fable 2 again, so I'm gonna go play that Very Happy

i played this game for an hour or so. the graphic is dated on my dx11 5770 card on 30" lcd screen. i couldn't get the mouse to work. i think the game gets confused when you have an xbox 360 controller for pc plugged in. i ended up just using the 360 game pad to play. Razz

the gameplay doesn't feel as tight/fluid as other action rpgs. what's with all the loading? walk into a building and suffer a loading screen wait. walk out of the building and bam, another loading screen wait. geez, devs, this is 2010 ya know? ever heard of streaming background data by offloading to other cores on multi-core system (i.e. quad core?).

i'll probably come back to play this game after i'm done with me2. it's like night and day playing me2 and this game. the quality is top notch in me2 and then you play this game, it's like walking into a ghetto. Shocked

The graphics in this game are good, hardly "ghetto".

Just got to Venice, I see the problem with the map now. Good thing they labeled the houses, I would never have guessed I was entering a house Laughing

Told ya... it was terrible, much MUCH worse when you reach Inner City. Check the map once you're inside Inner City, all the buildings are just labelled "House" *growls* It's really tough to know which house you need to go to.

The "Track quest" in the journal should help, never tried it so far though but I only just reached the second part of Venice after playing around a bit with each of the guilds.
(Went with the warrior guild / revenge as they seem decent, trader guild seems more thief and neutral oriented and the necros are probably all evil and mage oriented, haha.)

(That and their guild leaders are odd, one wears makeup and a mask and the other is a ugly granny.)

Nope, it really doesn't. It only lists locations of end-path quests (ie; once you've finished the quest, it says where to go) - and not key locations like stores (I explored the city for AGES before I finally found the Magic store, the one with the woman who gives the Pale Heart quest)

I seem to level up really fast resulting in alot of SP's. Can I max out most skills or something? And why is the moonblade so weak? Does it get upgraded later on?

Yeah, you can max out almost every skill (exception being you don't get all the combat skills if you joined the Necromancer guild, etc etc) and the Moonblade can be upgraded with Gems you rarely find from beating bosses, but it never becomes a true rival to any of the other weapons.

I stuck with Swords most the game, only pulling out the Moonblade when I had to fight Lectors. Once I got the Harvester (A "Hammer"-class Scythe that sucks extra EXP out of enemies... oh FUCK yeah! Very Happy) I used that until I finished the game.

So specializing in one weapon is not necessary? I use a sword mainly, but the hammer is just too cool to discard. I joined the Holy Order, so combat all the way.
Can I extend my quickbar? It's too short.

Nah, you don't need to specialise. As for increasing the quickbar, no - but you can set it to be Dynamic, which changes the first four slots depending on what weapon you have. On mine I had the first four weapon-specific skills in the slots, which changed on the fly, and the rest of the slots with generic skills and potions.

Noticed that core "lock" problem Sabin mentioned in the "App" section of the forums recently, guess I'll just have to push trough the remainder of the game in a single go, uninstall it and restart. Razz
(Annoying and probably crack related as I can't find anything about it on the German DTP forums either.)

(EDTI: GTA IV really didn't like just having a single core available.)

EDIT: Game hates alt-tabbing as well it seems (Was mentioned previously, just experienced it after posting the above.), annoying, haha.

EDIT: Should be Ogre3D though and it's also used in some other titles whom don't have these issue, guess it might be either the crack or just a bug with this build or variation of the engine, might be fixable somehow.

Thank god it's not just me! Very Happy Luckily the core issue goes away when you reboot, it's just annoying having to reboot after each time you play the game else suffer drastically reduced system performance Sad

I'm thinking it could well be that "dual core optimiser" launcher.

Yeah I resorted to using ImageCFG on the game EXE, rld.dll and modified launcher dll and exe (Thread optimizer tool.) plus set threading to false in PerfMod.ini for that utility, I'll lose a bit of performance (10 FPS or so at most.) but it shouldn't bother the other cores now, still need to reboot and test this though but that should go fairly quick. Smile

That utility worked, tried BlazBlue afterwards (That arcade "patch" version, quick to start and easy to test, HD movie or similar could also have worked I guess.) and it scaled with all four cores and doesn't lag or pause during the intro movie or when loading between stages. Smile

Hell the game (Venetica) even appears to run faster now. Very Happy
(Hit 90 FPS at the highest but I'm currently indoors where performance is much higher compared to actual countryside areas or just Venice itself.)

(Beats trying to "marathon" trough the remaining ten or so hours of the game in a single go, hah.)

Ctrl+Shift+Esc, open your task manager and check the AFFINITY for... well... any process you see. I'll bet you'll see that each one is now only using ONE of your multiple cores Sad
