So what casualties did you guys have ? And what team/combat choices did you make at the end ?
Spoiler: | I used that Modrid salarian scientist as the techie infiltrator and sadly he got killed while closing the door, also I used that idiot Zaeed as the leader of the "distraction" team and thankfully he got put down, too. He was ... expendable
Garrus and Samaria delivered flawlessly ! |
P.S.: The core disabling + enabling tip for the loading problem works ! Thank god, must have saved me more than an hour of loading lol.
P.S.: Took me 33 hours to finish this epic game ! It's better than the first !

Is there more than one place to buy star charts? I got the ones from Illium but that's it.

Spoiler: |
No casualties (I even saved Kelly! <3)
I used Tali to open the tech doors, Mordrin to escort the crew back to the ship, Miranda to lead the 2nd squad, Samara to use her biotics, Miranda to lead the distraction squad. Final team had myself with Garrus and Legion.
We kicked the shit out of the Reaper and boom; no casualties ^_^
|
And yes, the core disable<>reenable trick worked great for me too. God, I hated that crap... went from having 5-10s *at most!* loading time, to almost 90s in some cases. Annoying as piss, but the core trick works great!

Spoiler: | I used Tali as the specialist and Garrus as the team leader, the second time around used Grunt to escort others back, Garrus to lead the second team again and Samara to shield us. Then finally i used Thane and Miranda as my team in the end. No Casualties. |

So i just played through the Horizon mission again, the first time you meet the collectors. Found no traces of a geth assault rifle anywhere, only the collector heavy weapon. Has anybody actually found another assault rifle other than the burst one, the machine gun and the DLC rifle?

Survival actually has a lot to do with the choices before the mission...loyalty of the group, etc. (In addition to choosing the right guy for the job)
Spoiler just in case- nothing that wasn't in the trailers here: Spoiler: | As far as I know, even Shepard may not survive. They (BioWare) wanted to drive that point of it being the suicide mission and all. Too bad though, that the choices are fairly simple, you probably have to disregard your team completely for it to be all out bad. Would be nice if you actually had to make some tougher choices in that regard, to make you feel like you earned the survival of the team. Otherwise their suicide mission feels kinda easy |

MINOR SPOILER WARNING :
I'm pretty sure that the main characters are invulnerable, like Garrus,Tali, Miranda.
Can someone please test and make "wrong" choices, like putting Jack in charge etc ?
Also, what happens if the ship isn't 100% upgraded ? More holes after getting hit > more enemies go through ?

I don't think there is any other assault rifle in the game.

You guys think it has to do with fully upgrading the stuff for your squad members? Like Krogan shielding and stuff?

I really doubt about the level of their abilities having effect on this, since you probably won't be able to upgrade them fully anyway (I didn't, some were pretty average actually, even had unspent points). But I don't know for sure though.

Ok, but what happens if you deliberately choose the "wrong" ppl for the jobs. Non-techie chars etc ? Jack for team leader ...

Hmm..missed the geth rifle. Interesting, I am pretty sure I looked around thoroughly. Well, gonna play it again anyway, something more to look for.
@VGAdeadcafe
I suspect they may not survive, if you choose wrong people
EDIT: Also you can't really choose a completely wrong person, just not the best one - i.e. you cant choose a biotic for a tech mission, if I remember correctly.

It's basically the power of the burst-fire one but automatic and a bit weaker against shields, if you have the CE rifle you won't really need it (Or any other rifle aside from the special one you can select as I guess it does more direct health damage but isn't as apt for armor and shield destruction.)
I'm nearly sure I picked it off on that colony.
Spoiler: |
After entering the first backyard with the examinable corpse in it, some cross fire between three buildings right near the paralyzed colonists, on the ground right before entering those buildings.
(You get the beam weapon just after.)
|
EDIT: Pretty easy choice though, use the assault rifle for armor and shields and then switch to the carnifex pistol and bam-bam-bam three or four shots to the head, kills most anything.
(Especially with all upgrades, though you find the 4/5 and 5/5 base ones very late, similar to rifle 6/6 one.)

Do you get random missions by scanning planets? I don't mean the missions you get a message for first, but really random quests. In short, is it useful to scan every single planet?

It will show "Anomaly detected" immediately, otherwise there is none. So make sure you explore everything to 100% to not miss any.

I'm not sure if it does it with all DLC's, but there should be a message at your private terminal.

I'm fairly sure I found that one early on, either Omega station or Citadel somewhere, could have been a reward for a mission though and not a shop item.
Spoiler: |
Mordin give you a weapon for saving his clinic and assistant doesn't he? could have been the SMG or it might have been the Carnifex, unsure.
|
It's a bit hard to remember where I got all that stuff but I know the SMG was one of the earlier weapon improvements I found. (And researched, aside from the SMG ammo one, took ages to find another SMG base upgrade.)
EDIT: Seems I was wrong.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=944907&topic=53239971
(Don't remember any weapon upgrades there though, only some scans for resources and a model ship.)

Thanks for uploading the DLCs and creating the unlocker. Works without a problem.
