a yeah, ofc. I thought people got the D9 connector separate and attached it, but this seems even simpler.

fuck fuck fucking FUCK!
i always get errors (code: 0) on EVERY sector read and flash config 00012000. rechecked the wiring, redid the soldering, also used the diode (1N4841) on pin 11. which changed jack shit, i still gives me the same errors and the same flash config. apart from the diode being damaged, what else could it be? the cable is about 25cm long, which should be short enough. diode faces the mainboard and the diode wire (length betwenn diode and mobo) is about 1,5cm long.
so...what could i do? gonna replace the diode later, but are there any other error causes besides that? and is there any diagnose tool (besides a multimeter) i can use to check my work? the soldering looks alright (checked it with one of those jeweller glasses and i can even pull gently on the wires without anything breaking)
/edit: some dude on xbox scene wrote he got it working by shortening the cable (haha, mine can't get any shorter) and removing the resistors. i know that those are only for protection if you've got a 5.0v lpt port instead of an 3.3v one (please correct if i'm wrong on this) and maybe not necessary at all.
oh and another thing: could bad jtag soldering interfere with this step? that part looks ok, but who knows.

hey I got a question here..
If I go and buy a jtag'ed 360 with XBReboot and XexLoader preinstalled, will I be able to install newer versions of xexloader on my own? And does xbr get updated as well and if yes can I install updates for that as well? Or do you need to reflash the nand with an LPT cable or something?
How do you update these things?

I thought you had to do this to dump the NAND :/ So kinda confused when you say you just need the head, and then just solder the connections :S

resistors are only an additional safety measure so your lpt won't fry the xbox. but especially with longer cables, they aren't necessary.

June or July 09 manufactured Jaspers could contain the new bootloader even when it has a pre8xxx dash. so for all other manufacture dates you are save if you have a pre8xxx dash..
unless the console has been send to MS for repair then the new bootloader could also have been applied.
