With those things.. it's like i'm playing a different game... very stripped and limited.

The items - i always thought that a sequel must better the original.. how wrong.
The items selection is terrible.. armors and firearms... almost non -existent. There is no inventory, no item mods, no overheating. I hope the preorder dlc will be cracked soon - because after 20 hours i have about 3 options for each bodypieace..
Also what's with the no helmet option missing - Why they couldn't use the Dragon Age way of handling dialogs - with auto helm off.

You can't even customize your teammates... In the first game you could look like a heavy armored team ready to walk into space - all with helmets and various weapons - no such thing here..

Next - skills... dumbed down to Hell. You can learn extra skill.. so it's bearable - but companions , dear god.. 4 skills. Almost every char has the same biotic & weapon skill mix - Total homogenization. Also the previous game's weapons mods are now skills ? lol....

There is also no trace of weapon stats.. No way knowing which weapon does what damage.. but i guess it's ok - console players won't mind it much.. Also no weapon quick keys so i must constantly have 2 weapons on cycle with X. Again - consolies won't mind that.

Also the highest difficulty levels - are just made to be played with soldiers & infiltrators - every enemy has shields, armor and health -biotics plain suck there. Also (again..) vanguard class blows badly...

The game is way to relient to cover user - i hated Gears of War because of that crap.Sometimes just running back sticks you into cover - even if you don't want to.
Also, there is no crouch button for extra accuracy - i guess console players are ok with that - it's extra button...

The combat missions layout is terrible - straight A to B, no alternate routes - almost zero extra places to visit.

Aside combat- i find the scanning planets boring like hell, - almost never fully deplete a planet - and in the first part i liked the exploration - it was more fun that that...

i just can't believe how washed all those things are - compared to the previous game.. I somewhat i'm willing to blame multi-platforming here..

So.. it's like 2 games in 1 for me.. A great one and a mediocre one.

I agree, the game is simplified too much. Exploration ahs dropped to zero, you just go from one place to another. The number of side-quests is cut down, hard.
I'm having fun with the game, but it's hardly GOTY material. The more I play it, the more the bad aspects irirtate me Sad. I feel like a fucking errand boy going from place to place shooting people.

Does the save folder in the user profile contain everything needed to save my current char for ME3?

the official website states that we are actually able to buy the Cerberus network access code legally, but seems like its not available yet.
any news of it like its availability? and whether we can actually use these codes on the razor1911 release?

Will probably be available when the official release date hits for ME2 (the 26th I believe).

I dont think this game is an rpg, but a story dense gears of war type of game, but it is well done, the storystelling is perfect, way better then dragonage. The action is a bit meh, but im not into 3th person action, perhaps other people like it.

Agreed again, still not the time to say "Bioware has finally made a bad game" but to see them release a game that is so simplified, mainstreamed and is a copy of GOW with 0% RPG elements in it, I don't know just feels wrong Sad

Still if Bioware didn't made I would probably be happy with it, can't help but feel Ea corrupted them with their vile, black goo.

I've been reading this thread since it started. All of the complaints about "consoletardation" and taking out exploration and dumbing down the RPG elements are all changes that have made the game more fun. It's like none of you have played Mass Effect recently enough or you're too nostalgic about it to remember all of the things that made the game less fun.

Yeah maybe you don't trek around bland planets in the mako wishing there was some nitrous in the thing while going from way-point to way-point over huge annoying mountains. Maybe it's just me but after driving over every planet you could land on in ME1.. well I wasn't about to want to do it all over again on another replay.

TL:DR - If you loved Mass Effect. You will love Mass Effect 2.* This game is what a great sequel should be.

*Unless you've been made ADHD by all the games you pirate and you have aspergers and love to troll in threads about a game that YOU HATE EVERYTHING THAT'S BEEN CHANGED IN but still won't stop playing. Then you'll never be satisfied by anything except trying to get other people to agree that something that you keep wasting time on sucks.

I agree. The side missions are much better now than they were. Fewer decent ones is better than more shitty ones. Item system is dumbed down but still better than ME1.

Damn is anyone else playing on insanity? It might be just me but I started my 2nd playthrough and am about 5 hours in, playing as an adept. It's not that I'm struggling but it is pretty damn hard, every battle is significant, and takes much longer than my other playthrough which was on veteran. Pretty fun tho, you really can't screw around or you get dropped in seconds. It also is a bit masochistic.

I for one am glad to see the back of hundreds of useless inventory weapons and item I would never use, as well as the, quite frankly, annoyingly average Mako sections. As far as I'm concerned gameplay wise the sequel improves immensely.

Adept is one of the worst class in this game, every fucking power doesn't work until you riped your ennemies of their barrier/shield/armor so... what's the fucking point ?

Only warp is useful, what a let down when you compare it with ME1. Adept was just imba in ME1 Sad

That's why you go with someone that can drain shields, even on insanity you can wreck havoc quickly.
