Considering the ActivateS.exe files and similar added with the 1.0.2.5 patch the Steam version most likely also uses that lighter Star-Force version (Similar to Disciples 3 and that Boiling Point / Xenus spinoff game. EDIT: Precursors.)

Well it is a bit of a annoyance but I do expect Yuuplay will try to be quite fast with resolving activation and de-activation attempt exceedings as to avoid negative pressure (Star-Force already has bad rep from v.3 and earl v.4 titles, v.5 is quite OK, doesn't even need a restart any more and this lighter version doesn't use those drivers at all.) so far it's quite similar to Tages and SecuROM activation.

Russian have already cracked the 1.0.2.4 version (They don't have 1.0.2.5 from what I saw on Yuuplay.ru) but that Activate.dll (Normally protect.dll) file contains some game related data it seems so the game turns back to Russian localization when it's modified in that way, a separate English crack would have to be worked out for it to work properly again.
(Looking forward to a working crack myself, just de-activate the current activation first then apply and play, what I've done with all games I own legit that needs similar activation, heh early titles didn't even allow de-activation and Tages still dicks around how it's not their responsibility or something like that but only Avatar remains uncracked and it'll fall eventually though it's not a title one replays frequently, good for a single run trough of each faction side tho to be fair.)

Makes one wonder about future titles, Russian games brought over via the company 1C normally used Star-Force for internal (Russian and other eastern-European releases.) but the English versions have been unprotected as of lately, Ubisoft obviously sees the advantage of Tages so that's a given for Assassins Creed 2 and that Splinter Cell game, EA and many others still uses SecuROM though sub-studios like Bioware has gone back to just a disc check lately but with active DLC additions to boost sales or just increase profit.
(Bethesda is a bit in-between using a disc check on the game but SecuROM on the installer or launcher whereas games like GTA IV goes to new lengths by using LIVE, SecuROM, Protection triggers AND a disc check and their own RGSC app, hopefully we won't see more such stuff, LIVE is OK, even better if it can be disabled and left in offline mode but not bundled with everything else like that. Razz )

i d\l the game playing it with Wings_of_Prey_v1.0.0.3_RU_NoDVd the voices are in english but the menus are in Russian i saw the translation but how i can change the flying of the plane and the aiming to be with mouse not with the keyboard's arrows. Confused

just spend some time on the demo, and WOW im impressed, this game is badass.
The graphics/effects are amazing,
And the sounds are the best i've heard in a while, WOW factor just like Operation Flashpoint & Arma.


Started playing the tut with my KB, was a bit frustrating, buttons out of reach etc using default layout.
and a lil bug in the target camera or whatever its called,
was binded to insert however pressing insert dint do shit, rebinded this action at insert and it magically worked.
Was spending some minutes on just a couple of targets, lol.
when i finally got some down, i tryed flying into some guyz who bailed out.
but it seems i just flew thru that guy (pretty sure i hit em atleast the chute) i was expecting some nice red splatter blocking my view.

Tryed again using 360 pad, works pretty well, just started off using the generic gamepad layout i believe.
Right trigger is for fireing, when u press it halfway u just shoot this single Mgun thingy, full press is both guns, pretty neat implented.
Only free look sux on 360 controller, press right stick and move. at this point i switch to the mouse.
Overal very playeable with the 360 controller, for those who are interested.
Any more 360 users, or keyboard?

Getting the hang of it, its fking hard just @ realistic mode. but thats a big bonus for me.
Runs maxxed out without a hitch, cant wait to see these ultra textures

True pc gaming ffs, something worth buying after a while

For 360 pad, you want to use the "Alternative Joypad Layout" (the last one available), so the triggers are used for rudder. RB is used for target focus, LB is used to make the right stick camera control (it is used for throttle otherwise).

Shame, but there is a bug in the demo, that won't save your controls... But no big thing, just remember what you set.

For 360 pad you might also want to make the elevator and aileron axes to non-linear, so you'd have some more precise controls for dog fights. Maybe also have the sensitivity to the middle. Smile

Yeah i noticed it dint save the settings. luckaly u dont have to change a pack of things.
Thanx ill try that, i got my sens down to like 30/40% already.

Control feels very good, no more pointless stalls Smile

oh btw, How much to non linear in percentages 100%? just to make sure

Almost found my sweet spot, non linear between 30/50%
@ 100% i had to move the stick halfway for small movement, its ultra precise though.

Ive been playing this for the last week and it works really well with my new saitek cyborg stick. Its a good polished game and while its not so much a sim its still difficult for casual simmers like me Smile My only gripe is that the planes go down really easily

cannot play the full game as it is updated to version 1.0.0.3 and the GCW crack has a trojan and cannot download any luck of getting a good patch from elsewhere

Isn't that the beta version? full should be 1.0.2.1 and the latest patch (Russian as that's the only release for now.) is 1.0.2.4 (1.0.2.5 for the other editions, as far as I know.)

i have cracked 1.0.2.1 russian version.my 360 pad not working.where is that "Alternative Joypad Layout"???

In the joystick settings (axes) you can click "Layouts" and it will give you many layouts. The alternative is the last one. Smile

I always choose "inverted mouse" settings when playing any game. I always attribute my reasoning back to flight simulators WAY back in the day (LHX Attack Chopper)



Are any of you non-inverts playing this game with inverted/non-inverted mouse settings....always wondered that......

I pull my planes nose up, by pulling the joystick towards myself. Anything else would be awkward

Just simply meant that playing flight sims back in the day practically made me stick with the inverted control scheme permanently.

So, when my friends come over and want to play one of my FPS's they always have to turn off the inverted controls, and ALWAYS ask why I always play inverted.

I've always been curious if the people that don't play FPS's with inverted controls happen to invert their controls when playing a flight sim
