Why "people" look so mongoloid? Confused And the gun is still moving as if the player is tap dancing; what is so proper about it?

Umm... que? I posted criticism, listing the camera/weapon sway and the tappy-tappy movement. It's hardly constructive since nobody here works for Splash Damage (to my knowledge Razz) but it's still criticism nonetheless. As for "f5-ing this thread every 5 seconds" - you're wrong. I'm sorry if the fact that I type fast, and have been checking out the forum all night, bothers you - but tough shit. It was just blind luck that you posted while I was reading the game section.

as it is actual gameplay, not a developer doing jumps in an empty level.

Ohhh Smile I thought it was proper as in better version or something, someone posted a link to the forum of the developer, where they claim they fixed the issues people have. Smile

I know what you mean about Mirrors Edge, but KZ2 ? I dunno, maybe just this level. All levels in SD games look different from each other.
RPG mechanic from BL? W:ET had XP system and upgrades way earlier.
Not sure what you mean by Frontlines gun play, never played it.

This game is looking pretty sweet. I'm liking the smart button idea with the ability to slide up to things or vault over obstacles fluidly. Visually it looks impressive to me and I like the gameplay idea they had going on there with the ability to "carry out a mission". Like on the video when the team got to the door with your selcted class..
This game might have console elements to its gameplay, but I like the execution of how it is done on the video but I do hope thats not the only thing going on in this game..

I imagine the RPG in this game will come in a form similar to the perks system found in more recent games and coop as per usual is always nice to have.
New engine too (dx11 capable dunno?). But didn't they also announce no dedicated servers too not too long ago...?!

DX11 ? Lol, dude, we'll get a port of the 360 version. The only PC-specific feature we can expect is mouse+keyboard support !

They're PC game developers Very Happy Had to hire new people to work on console versions, because they have never done a console game before

But it's not exactly new engine, upgraded idtech4 : x

Any gameplay on PC yet? It's running IDtech 4, and I highly doubt the xbox can preform well enough to show us what the engine can actually do.

The debate about the SMART button reminds me of the debate about the Auto Queue button (endless automatic production of the chosen unit) in RTS games. Personally, I was not against Anto-Queue, because it was only a helping tool, not an auto-solving tool. Is that SMART button dumbing down the game? Depends if it makes real decision in your place, and I don't think we have enough info about that yet.
But I agree that it's not as if we really needed such a button until now, and I don't like the idea of a single button for jumping, and take actions like pick items or open doors.

Sabin,
Cedge certainly implied that people are dumb about that smart button. I don't like it either, but that's not like if that kind of "general passive insult" is rare here. That is no excuse for doing it, granted, but I don't believe that it's trolling according to the present forum standard. Thus I agree with you on passive insults, but I don't believe Cedge was trolling.
By the way, another recent example of general-passive insulting came from yourself: "Only a complete fucking RETARD would think they look good." Not the only example I know of.
Unfortunately, you then went straight into individual "finger pointing".

You also ask "How dare you sit there and pass judgement on me", but don't you think you pass judgement quite often on others, yourself?
You're a heavy user of "fuck them", "idiots" and "retards". In the past, we had a very hot debate on the meaning of respect, partly because of that.
You explained why (strong opinions, very low tolerance[...]), but please respect principles that you wish others to respect. It's a healthy start.

I wasn't saying it DIDN'T copy anything, what i was saying is that a lot of great games in the past have taken elements form different games and combined them so i dunno what you're trying to point out exactly with that.

It still looks like a great game to me from what i see.

No no I wasn't pointing at you, it was just an integrative video that actually shows how the game is structured combining elements and mechanics from other (great) games. Basically my opinion is just like yours Wink

I wouldn't want to play a game that didn't copy anything from other great games. All innovation owes something to previous innovations. Standing on the shoulders of giants and all that. As long as it's not a clear cut copy, this is a good thing.
