well whatever, i just finished watching sherlock holmes about 5 mins ago, and i enjoyed it. i think most of that is down to downey jr and law carrying the film... theyre incredibly fun and easy to watch, very good actors. their dialog was fun, charming, and they played well off each other. there was enough story to keep me entertained, and while perhaps there wasnt quite enough 'detecting' and puzzles in the film as i was hoping for, i didnt mind because, as i said, the 2 main actors kept things interesting for me. the production values are good, and im most DEFINATELY eager to see the next film.

7.5/10 - enjoyed it. not flawless, but enjoyable enough that i will likely grab the 1080 when it shows up.

Sherlock Holmes: Great! 8/10! Very entertaining. I still expected something a little bit more twisted from guy ritchie. Still A LOT better than rock'n'rolla was.

Sherlock Holmes - 9/10 - I really enjoyed this movie. It had the fun and action, and I smell a sequel...

He's probably gay and couldn't resist all the torsos being exhibited on the movie, but unlike most brainless fan girls, he is smart enough to see through the emptiness of the "film".

2k9 generally was a shitty movie year, but lately i discovered some nice 2k9 releases... Mainly festival/limited movies.

500 days of summer, if you like this one, check out Mysterious Skin, same dude also kickass movie
city island, good actors, unknown movie, very much appreciated
extract, watching a comedy now and then, gotta appreciate the mature humour in this one, no adam sandler crap
brothers, best war movie in a long time
hurt locker, pulls you into insanity...
The age of stupid, i like the mountain guide in the movie
Two lovers, last movie by joaquin phoenix, very much appreciated
the bad lieutenant - port of call new orleans, Finally a good nicolas cage movie + eva mendes, cant go wrong
a prophete, best jail movie i have seen so far, in french, but tremendous acting and superb story
gran torino, popular movie, typical clint eastwood shooting
curious case of benjamin button, oscar material. dunno the minute it starts, the method of filming, the music etc, you see it is made for oscars. I like the cinematographic aspect, nice and clean shooting, montage + brad pitt is still a superb actor.

Thats my list of the last couple of weeks that i can remember and thus is probably worth watching

Whip it 8/10

This movie Surprised me alot
When I first saw the trailer and the commercials for it I thought formyself I will never watch that flick.
But boredom made me give it a chance and I don't regret it at all.

Great movie!

Well i am glad someone is liking the list. I am quite fed up with, with all due respect, stupid animated movies and stupid SF. I dont like them and i dont like SF, 2009 was a real pain in the ass... Every top 10 movie list contains at least 5 animated or SF movies, every thought about people that dont like them?

any tip on good movies is always welcome Smile

Adam

The best romantic comedy in years, primarily because it's actually really sweet and endearing, and made me laugh consistently throughout.

Also, I have a huge boner for Rose Byrne. She's so adorable and it's practically impossible not to fall in love with her.

Also...

Only good 2009 movie was District 9 and maybe Up in the Air (haven't seen it yet). Hardly a good year.

I'm with you on this one...I thought it was one of his worst movies tbh.
Combined with Jackie Brown.

Other than those two, I love Reservoir Dogs/kill Bill/Pulp Fiction/Sin City (well, he was special guest director Razz), Killing Zoe (Producer), Natural Born Killers (Story)...the episode he wrote for CSI was great too.

Had to check what he had done to be 100% sure though Razz oh..and his acting in Desperados was entertaining too

I do like Tarantino's movies, I did to an extent IB, but nothing that will make (or break) a year's quality of movies. Smile
