like the subject says, i'm trying to get Crysis running on Windows 7 professional 64bit. The game won't start at all, doubleclick on the exe and the screen turns black and that's it, hit ctrl+alt+del and then cancel to get back and i see a box saying that Crysis has stopped working and gives me 2 choices, close the program or look online for a solution.
I updated to version 1.2, tried the 32 and the 64 bit exe, various compatibility modes, run as admin, nothing.
Running this on a i5 750 with 4GB DDR3 1333 and a Asus GTX 275, everything at stock speeds

I got it working using it in vista compatibility mode in Win7 64bit.
But you seem to have tried that already.

Well i've gotten a tiny bit further in the meantime, i can run the 32bit exe in windowed mode up to 1920x1080 which is strange considering i have a 16:10 monitor that has a native 1920x1200 resolution and i seem to remember that crysis supports 16:10.
Anyway, as soon as i switch to fullscreen, the game crashes to desktop, and the 64bit exe refuses to cooperate completely, but google says that has been a widespread problem even with vista, and i somehow doubt that crytek is going to bother fixing it

Crytek can go get fucked, support for Crysis was shit.
It's obviously a gfx problem, try different gfx drivers. (have you checked the official forum?)
