It's not doing anything because there is no firmware to tell it to eject etc.
I dunno but it's really really hard to "kill" a drive while flashing. Just keep those .bin's really secure and don't lose them. |
I didn't flash it, mate. There's no way the firmware could be "gone" because it was never erased, just read. All that was done on this drive was to dump the .bins and that's it. I couldn't even get it to go INTO vendor mode to flash/erase 
Seeing as there's nothing else to do, I'll try using L-O-Erase tomorrow. How though? I was under the impression that the CK3 was needed to flash - and since my PC doesn't have COM ports, how would it connect via DOS? *shrugs* What a goddamned mess. |
The com/usb is only needed to dump the files.
You can erase/write with only the sata hooked to your pc and than you need power from your CK3 or your 360.
Doing it in windows blows. DOS FTW! |

In that case it's definitely fried then. I hooked the drive back to the 360 and it still won't power up. No power whatsoever, which means no eject or anything. Thanks anyway though, I appreciate the help.

Now, I may have missed something but I have this problem with my liteon every time I flash.
PC bluescreens, I connect via Sata (not sure if thats related) and the drive is pretty much dumb for as long as it feels like. No response no matter what I do.
The only thing I've done is constant power cycling (i.e. on for 10 seconds, off for 10 seconds) until the thing has woken up. I'm not by any means saying this'll work with your drive but I get similar symptoms with mine and then all of a sudden it kicks into life.

I'll give it a try, as you say; can't get any worse. I doubt it will work though because the drive won't power on at all, either on PC/CK3 or via the actual 360 itself.

its allways a good idea to make sure you xbox is grounded to your pc case, i usually push the xbox metal case up to the outside of the pc case to ground it.

Flashed it in DOS, following those steps exactly and - just as in Windows - when it came to turning on the drive the first time; boom. PC reset. I growled and tried again, this time the L-O-Erase command worked perfectly, returning FF72 status (0x72). I ran dosflash and flashed with my previously made iXtreme 1.61 and it worked! Perfectly

can someone help me figure this out. I got 1.61 flashed successfully. I tried Darksiders, worked fine, played for 2 hours. Then I tried AC2 and it gave open tray error. I rebooted and the game started and I played till where the character is born as baby and you have to shake its legs and hands. At that point I got a unreadable error. So I burned another copy, and its behaving the same way. I tried Army of Two 40th Day, same problem. Only game that works is darksiders. What could be wrong, is the laser going bad or something? Originals work fine(I tried GTA4 and GH3)

Tried using Verbatims? The laser seems to be fine, since originals run fine.

What burner do you have, what media do you use, i had the same problems, then i bought a plextor PX-608CU (which is an pioneer orignally) and no problems anymore.
Yes sometimes the games work when i burn with crappy media but usually not on my laptop burner and ocasionally i had coasters, now i dont have any coasters anymore and my games always load without problems.

I used Verbs and my drive is a Samsung SH-S203B. Funny thing is I had no problems with the same drive and same media when I had my old liteon drive. I sold that when it got banned in November, and got this box this month frm ebay.

ahh dude throw that shit burner away. i had one of those too and it just "magically" started having bad burn problems. i took some run of the mill shit out of a customer's compaq that was headed for the dump and have had 0 problems since.
bummer cause i bought my samsung burner brand new and i wanted to like it. it had hardly been used.

now this is just stupid....today all the games that didnt run yesterday are running fine. I got unreadable on one but after I restarted the console it worked fine. I did see some skipping in cutscenes in Darksiders and the audio going out of sync but most of the games I tried today worked, except a couple(forza 3 and AC2) that gave open tray no matter what.
To remove my burner from the equation, I borrowed a few disks from my friend that worked on his box, one worked fine, one gave open tray errors. I am thinkinf the box itself is screwed or something!!!

glad I didnt rush out and get a new burner...it was the drive after all...got a new benq and spoofed it as a liteon and it reads all the disks fine....
