I applied for a job...wait for it...at a McDonald's. Crying or Very sad

But what's a lazy guy like me to do, I wanted a job to have money for stuff like movies and games, and McDonald's always hiring.

I want to enjoy the new year without having to use my savings or borrowing. Sad

I'm cool with being a minimum wage slave, it's not like I have any big plans for the rest of my life.

It could actually be a good thing. After a while when you've experienced the degradation, the humiliation, the sadness of it all, you may appreciate the idea of making an effort to do something better. Wink

I doubt I'll be flipping YOUR burgers.

Second, when you have no bills to pay a McJob ain't too bad, I'd be getting the same amount anywhere else, doesn't matter if it's at McDonald's, waiting tables at some coffee shop or washing dishes at a home, 20.70 an hour is what it is.

yeah, wage-slavery is the same no matter the venue. But still, why not aspire to find a job that is actually fun to do?

I'll take whatever I can get.

Before that I washed dishes, wasn't fun and the staff were assholes but I lived.

Not absolutely certain about this, but I heard they pay 100SEK in Sweden which is 10 euro. Which is OK for a student, who can't get any financial aid or a loan. They didn't hire me though :/

Here in the UK i'm sure they pay minimum wage:

* £5.80 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older
* a development rate of £4.83 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive
* £3.57 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age

Well whatever you may think of the place, it's still an ideal job for a first time/student. You are still young enough to do whatever you want to but sitting around and doing nothing is hardly ideal, i'd rather be out working and earning a little bit of money.
