					| |
					| Anyone else getting pretty sub par speeds? I'm downloading from the swedish servers, and the highest it ever goes is 800 kb/s, and it sits at 400 on average. This is pretty bad, when my connection allows for 1400 kb/s. This only started happening a few weeks ago though, before that it was constantly going 1400.

					| I bought a friend of mine CS:S as a gift and he downloaded with ~950kb/s . But I think it was limited because his notebook was ~15m from his router and there are several walls in-between | |

					| Up until day before yesterday I was getting line-max speeds (1.5MB/s) but the last two days of offers seem to have crippled speeds. Odd.

					| Indeed, though it might help to change the content server location (Steam program settings.) although I guess the entire server system is a bit over-loaded with this holiday sales thing going on.
(Should calm down soon though as it's nearly over.)

					| I wonder how much money valve makes with steam. This must be the most lucrative thing in gaming ever. | |

					| Benelux seems to be fine, downloaded a bunch of games last week at 5-7 MB/s. Not the max of my connection, but pretty good nonetheless. Try changing location to Benelux? | |

As I said in my post, I've had this problem for weeks.

I've tried using Benelux servers, no difference.

					| Well the servers has been really hammered the last few days a friend to me couldn't even start one of his downloads. Personally I bought two games during the sale and both were downloaded with around 500-1400kb/s. Normally I can get up to around 7-8 sometimes 9 MB/s

					| Before the holiday sale the max I ever got was 9 MB/s; still not the max of my connection (120/10, wanna share Leo? A lot of stuff out there can't handle 120, good thing there's Usenet to abuse <3), but it shows that they do have quite a lot of bandwidth available.
Your connection fine other than this? Got firewall? Router? Loads of things that can slow your download speed on Steam. Also, playing Steam games doesn't help the downloading

					| On my end the speed goes up and down constantly. Up to the cap and down to around 30ish KB.
