not anytime in the near future I would imagine.. looks interesting though and the vids that I have seen so far are nice. If they can just wrap it up with a decent storyline, I could deffo play this game.

Details on the DLC content for this game, seems they do some sort of smaller "episodes" for certain characters to give more insight and back story to them.

Quote:

The Chronicles are short side stories for the main characters in Heavy Rain. Each one shows what they were up to before or after the time of the main story to provide a little extra depth to their personality. Here's the description Sony offered for "The Taxidermist":

Code:

Heavy Rain: Chronicle One -- The Taxidermist will feature investigative journalist Madison Paige in one of her first cases tracking down a serial killer. Most of you are familiar with this episode as it is an expansion and update to the original 'Taxidermist' demo that received such positive response when shown last year.

fuck you, quantic dream. if you're making DLC and even announce it 2 months before the game is out just to increase preorders and piss off gamers, at least release the whole bunch at once - not spaced out over a year so i can put the game on ebay immediatly after i've finished it, since i'm supposed to play through it only once anyway Rolling Eyes

Boohoo. God, is this whats going to happen with EVERY game that has staff specifically tasked to create DLC for the game? Folks rolling out to whine about DLC not being included in the game at launch. I say go back to your PS2 or earlier system where "expansion packs for the consoles" weren't even an option, so you can live a nerd-rage-free life.

We've known about the DLC for some time now, so that's no surprise. I think most people thought that the particular episode in question was always going to serve as the demo - so that was something of a surprise - but if it's any consolation and you were always intending on buying the game you can still get it free if you pre-order Heavy Rain (at least according to Kotaku)

Assuming they aren't stupid the main game will have enough content and quality to be worthy of the admission price, in which case the more singleplayer focused DLC the merrier I say. They are also supposedly priced at $4.99 so seems reasonable enough.

Can't wait, it's just my type of game and that boxart looks really good I have to say. As does , and which - if you read this;
Quote:
The Collector’s Edition is packaged in a special ‘rain-effect’ slipcase – thanks to special embossing and other manufacturing tricks, it gives the impression of being streaked with 3D rain-drops (something that has confused a lot of people when they’ve seen it lying on my desk recently!).

But cool as that is, that’s not all. The Collector’s Edition also contains a voucher to download the following additional content from the PlayStation Store:

* Heavy Rain: Chronicle 1 – The Taxidermist – Experience Madison’s dangerous investigation in full, before it’s available on the PlayStation Store
* The Heavy Rain Official Soundtrack – Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios, and filled with the powerful orchestral themes that form a key part of the experience of playing Heavy Rain
* Dynamic XMB theme – Lend a little Heavy Rain ambience to your XMB

...will be available as an ultra cool dynamic XMB theme. I'd buy the collectors edition just for that personally as I love a good rain theme.

Since they were expanded upon, fleshed out as separate entities and packaged as DLC? From the very beginning they said that the demonstrations they were showing at places like E3 and so on were not a part of the main game (although there was speculation the taxidermist episode would function as a free demo). I guess if you don't follow this stuff closely enough and just latch onto headlines you'd miss those details, but it's really not news.

hahaha Very Happy

My phone is up for renewal soon, so if I do get one I will get it free with a new mobile contract.

Trouble is i have a BluRay player and i would say a very high percentage of the games I want to play are avalable on the 360 that I already have.

I have three games I want to play on the PS3 and they are this, little big planet and god of war 3, other than those games I can see it gathering dust.

With a wife and three kids I find it hard to justify a new games machine for a handful of games.

Nah, it was a PS2 game - then ported to the Xbox and PC. PC version is, with a gamepad, the best version (graphically and performance wise).
