It's put in the wrong section. Should have been in PC section.

OK guys, what car do you use to win the "street race". The one that you talk to the fat guy near the hideout, and then run by the Arc De Triumph (or whatever it's name is). He says that if you can finish in time, you can race in the country with his friends.
I've tried both racers that I have, and the best I can do (without hitting anything, and driving like a moron), is 2:00. So, what car do you use, and do you actually follow the "yellow path" to the end, or is there a shortcut or something that I'm missing?
This is the only thing left to do on my map, and I'd like to finish it.
Thanks!

Silver Arrow or what it's name was might work due to it's speed, needs to be stolen from a place first however, there's a map of collectible car locations posted a page or two back.
Otherwise infiltrate "Saarbrucken" or what it's name was and head to the race track and steal the "Altair" car, this can be problematic due to the heavily German military presence and checkpoint however but it's the best non-unlockable race car available.
(You'll also unlock a race car by finishing this trial run and two others by completing the other races first but that doesn't help here.)
(EDIT: Unless you have the two perk unlocking purchases still available.)

Silver Arrow is my car of choice lol. Especially since you have to steal it from the Nazi's Villa lulz (nice place to live haha).

silver dart handles like shit.
i used the altair that you get for collecting 5 civilian vehicles just fine in the street race.
you can also try to use the german bikes, as they are pretty fast, or any of the saarbruecken race cars, esp the beta romero 12c.

Do you follow the normal route, or do you take shortcuts? (By normal route, I mean the route laid out by the pseudo-GPS).

I used the Altair and finished first time following the yellow route. It helps using a 360 pad for proper controls of the car.

I just started playing after some comments saying it was pretty good, have to agree so far. Good game that was really over looked last year. Reminds me a lot of Mafia.

I dunno when they did it, but they added the game to GOG

I don't want to spoil the party, but I'm pretty sure it was a while ago, and the game is still in incredibly rough shape with regards to getting it running on modern systems at the proper resolutions/no mouse acceleration etc.
I have the Origin version, and messed around with it a few years back - never could quite get it running properly. First it was a resolution issue where 1920x1080 wouldn't play nice, then it was an issue with mouse acceleration, and finally I just gave up.
Take a look at the GOG forums here:

Doesn't look liike the GOG one is in much better shape, unfortunately.
Edit: Looks like somebody wrote a nice guide here, not sure if it's still valid though - https://www.gog.com/forum/the_saboteur/tutorial_how_to_run_saboteur_on_modern_multicore_systems_2021
The whole point of a GOG release of older classics, IMO, is that THEY put in the legwork to make it play nice with modern OS', saving the end user the hassle. They did a good job of that with Leisure Suit Larry 7, for example.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I don't think I really had any issues getting it to work last time I wanted to play it.

Ah yes, that 'time' when average, unremarkable games from the past have become now EXCELLENT in comparison with the shit released today...
