Tbh I use LaTeX for all my formula stuff, and I haven't used excel in ~6 months, but it seems the same to me The only daily Office program I use is Outlook, which is imo pretty much the same as old one (07 iirc) except the visual adjustments...

I see
You should try the fomula editor, for smaller formulas it might be faster to use word and it uses something like the LaTeX syntax anyway...

Oh I have found some kind of Latex to Word, but I find it pretty useless since LaTeX is really great tool to work with. Currently I'm working my homeworks in it (I use LEd) but next year I'll have to do lab work too. And I'm pretty happy with it

Nui wrote: | the only thing i dont like about latex is that you never see what your doing on the fly and the sourcecode you're writing will get somewhat unreadable and I dont like any of the editors, including LEd. But dont worry, Word has some very funky quirks, that i cant recommend it to anyone |
But you have a built in DVI preview pane in LEd, you just have to install ghost script and fonts I think. Plus most of the science forums use latex so I'm kinda used to it. The only problem which I found so far was the wrapping of pictures. That can be a little tricky. Other than that I have absolutely no issues with it...
