I think you answered your own question with "quick and easy and no fuss". I thought scene releases were on usenet before torrents, and that it's the non-scene releases that usually end up on torrents first.

Indeed. I just find it amusing and slightly perplexing at the same time (not being as vested in the "scene" as some other care to be). From an outsiders perspective it seems silly.

I wasn't offered any other language than English and 'options' included no other language.

It's a bit like God of War, played about an hour and I like it. The voice acting and cinematic scenes are pretty fucking good, the graphics is not as good it could be and the game play can get a bit iffy at times. But fighting huge ass bosses are always fun and the whole apocalyptic thing is cool.

yeah like Flark said: it's like god of war
you get 3 differnet kind of souls by fighting/destroying/chests
- XP/money (blue)
- health (green)
- rage/magic/skills (yellow)
you can also buy stuff like new skills, weapons, items and so on
I heared it's a bit like Zelda too
You get new items which help you getting to new points which where unreachable before.
And there should be some puzzles

Is there any slowdowns or screen tearings ?
It tells me that it's an Xbox 360 issue.

Played for awhile now. Plotting down some first impressions.
The game borrows from many other games. Just like Dead Space it succeeds very well in doing that!
For being an actionrpg the action is somewhat deep, with a combosystem and all. Fighting mechanics works well and feels satisfying.
Big enemies. And varied.
Rewards like chests, powerups, skills, etc. For example instead of gathering 4 peices of a heart ala zelda you here gather 4 skull pieces.
The setting is borderlining to silly, but manages to stay overall within bounderis of it being too silly. Beginning gave me prototype vibes, but cooler. There is something going on all the time. I mean it, all the time. Stairs will fall, buldings crumble and what not.
The game has a good quality feel to it and ovearall this is a big surprise to me. I´m honestly enjoying it and I find it hard to find games that actually delivers nowadays.

yes there is (minimal) tearing, most of the time you won't notice it but I guess that's subjective
I also had one slowdown as far as I can tell
Some other stuff:
- you can buy/find items and insert them into your weapon
- you can increase your health/rage through items -> e. g. Zelda heart container like

Uhm - the graphics in this are great. Not Call of Duty great, but Brutal Legend heavily stylized great. This is Joe Mad's creative creation of course and it shows.

So, the fat guys who laugh and uppercut you - are they just not able to be stunned or taken down. All I can do is get one hit off, then dash - one hit - dash. Seems a bit silly for the toughest enemy in the game so far to not be a boss. I mean I can cheaply blow the horn, over and over (like 10 times), but that seems kind of lame.

Does the game need an update or something? Doesnt run on hitachi with ixtreme 1.51, just says open tray. Burned as usual with imgburn at 2.4 on verbs.

As suspected. That's still pretty damn cheap. And the whole "stationary to block" bidness is a bit stupid if you ask me. While the controls are completely useless - they could have used a bit of touching up and real world use.

I'm playing on Apocalyptic, as playing on Normal was just a tad too easy. However playing on Apoc, does give the game a needed edge - however dying and having to repeat scenarios all over again (including intro scenes) is no fun. I hate these really sweet "indy" games, that seem to suffer from little nigglers that jar you out of the fun.
