I'd need some advices about a mouse for playing (mainly FPS) with a good balance between price and quality (~50-60€ max).

Thx Smile

I got this last year, it's pretty amazing. http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-lachesis/

Aiming accuracy is stunning, it's very responsive and all that. Mouse wheel is great, you can clearly feel a click between positions when scrolling, so it's great for switching weapons cos you won't accidentally skip one weapon, if you know what I mean. Fingers will never slide from left and right buttons because of the way mouse is shaped. The only negative thing would be additional buttons on the right side, they are kinda hard to press. So if you are addicted to tons of buttons it could be an issue for you. Again, I bought it for aiming in FPS games and it does the job almost too well Smile

Oh yeah, it also has onboard memory, mouse settings are always saved inside so if you format PC, or take your mouse to LAN party or whatever, you will always have your precise settings.

I purchased the Razor Daimondback probably about a year or two ago, and the Lachesis has 4000 DPI Shocked

My left mouse button has started to stop responding it's probably hit more than 1 million clicks though but it's still going strong.

Although my father has this Logitech wireless mouse that has the forward and back buttons right below the mouse buttons below the palm and I quite like that but other than that it, it's not really all that. It's pretty picky about the surface or else it doesn't respond.

I'm not even sure this Logitech wireless mouse is even available anymore.

You could always buy a touch screen monitor and just use your hands in place of a mouse Razz

I never think that will catch on in normal day to day desktop use, it's more of a luxury than anything else...

Indeed it is. Very Happy

BTW, any mouse that doesn't offer freescroll is not a mouse worth having. Once you use that for a while, going to scroll-click-scroll-click will not be an option.

Logitech MX518 Laughing, not very expensive and not much wow factor but I'm not made of gold and didn't work full time when I got it but its lasted a really long time and the mouse buttons aren't badly placed, for me at least, the forward-most button on the left side of the mouse can be a bit annoying to get to while playing an FPS so I tend to only use that for using the mic, the other left button for melee or something.

Lol.... i have a MX1000 since the day it came out so that must be over 7 years now Wink

I allready consumed 3 pairs of glidepads which i got free from logitech after writing them a mail. I also had the problem with the left button over a year ago.

Just open your mouse and take a piece of plastic and melt it on the right spot. You only need one or two drips.

Good luck Wink

I've been using Razer Diamondback exclusively for the past 7 years. There is no better mouse for me. It's fast, responsive, just the right size (good grip) and smooth performance.

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

You know, with the red or blue light used by mice to track motion. I hate these, especially when someone tries to be cute and flashes in your eyes. Also at pitch black night, I find them very annoying.

Infrared FTW!

I'm really tempted by Logitech's MX518 (since it's only 29€) along with Razer's Lachesis (52€)

If you have a possibility you should go to a store and see which one feels better in your hand. For example MX518 is better if you cup mouse with your palm and rest your palm on the mouse, Lachesis is better if you control your mouse with fingertips. There's also Razer Deathadder, it's similar to Lachesis but a bit cheaper.

It's all about personal preference anyway Smile

For me, Logitech's 5 series are the most comfortable, because I rest my hand on the mouse and I've got fairly large hands. Went from Dual Optical, to MX500, MX510, G5 and now G500..notice a pattern? Very Happy

Razer's mice just feel too tiny for me, Steel's Ikari had a decent shape but is a shit mouse besides that. Haven't been able to try the Roccat mice or Steel's Xai yet, but I'll stick with my Logitech anyway :>

Ye, I can use Google too, thank you very much Razz

I posted before searching. Smile Seems like they are back to the G5/G7 shape. Shame, cause the G9/G9x shape, while it looks very strange, is more comfortable for me. Maybe we'll see a G900 come out just in time my G9 decides to break. Very Happy

Logitech did sell a mouse that had a forward and back button on it on the top - it seemed quite odd but it became useful to me when I didn't feel like grasping the entire thing to my browser in the right spot...

Oh look I'm re-iterating what I said in my first post - must be a sign I liked it...

I wouldn't call the G9 a successor to the G5, more of a side branch than a successor. MX5xx/G5/G500 have nearly identical shapes, G9/G9x is quite a lot shorter, like 12-14mm easily.

The G500's dual mode scroll wheel is awesome, I honestly expected it to be clunky or annoying, but I'm absolutely loving it Very Happy

It's definitely a feature they should keep. Also moving one of the buttons on the top to the side was a smart move; I've set that button to be Mouse3 (pressing scroll wheel) so it's useable in all games without having to press the scrollwheel, which I always found awkward Very Happy

Ye, G9 has the freescroll as well, and it is a deal breaker from now on for me. I just find scrolling by tick-tick-tick so annoying and impractical! Very Happy

I used the third button on the G7 as my middle-click because it was so hard to press, but on the G9 it's so easy. Smile
