Full of shit how? Three months ago I said I wanted to talk to the guys who made it, I did, and now AM involved in it, so I stopped posting here. If I wanted to hide, do you think I'd make my bnc the same as my nick?
If you guys want to diss it, fine with me. It's not meant for a deep scene audience, but everyone, and it's just teling a story. If you feel "threatened" by a show that uses IM, ICQ, IRC and a camera, but exposes none of the real private areas and tech (Blowfish, site channels, site screenshots, psybnc boxes, etc..) then that's your own paranoia. We have exposed NOT ONE real user, and we never will.
Meanwhile it's being heavily downloaded, hurts no one, and if you think this is "secret information" that the Feds don't already know, you might want to calm down, protect yourself and realize we aren't hurting anyone.
If anyone if offended, my sincere apologies, but it is enormously successful, totally unique (which is why I wanted to get involved) and if you'd get your head out of the sand, realize it represents a way for sceners to make HUGE $$$ by distributing legal movies, warez and tunes.
Jeez, I'm only here today because I'm getting dozens of nforce PM's asking "where can I get it?"
BTW, no one is making a dime off The Scene, nor will we ever. We are just showing how legal stuff can be distributed, and arresting people is counterproductive. Would you rather be offered millions by the record companies to distribute their stuff, or get pounded up the butt in jail? You guys (the ones opposed to TS) can wring your hands and think you are safe from the Feds. Anyone with a forward thinking mind, mail me, and you'll see how we are trying to stop your asses from getting attacked by lawyers.
Anyone who wants to seriously discuss TS, send mail to brian.sandro@gmail.com and I'll get into it deeper. I only agreed to participate once I had discussed it with the originators. Insults will just be deleted.

A perfect example of NOT using a real dupecheck to protect its security. If we had, you guys would be screaming your lungs out that we are "threatening security."
You guys seem to think when we are not accurate, we are lame, but when we are accurate we are "a threat.". Make up your minds, hmm?
As far as "ripping the VOB files to the hard drive from the DVD" that highly redundant sentence is because The Scene is NOT written for people in the scene, but a much wider audience. Interestingly, there was a lot of argument over that line.

It was fun to watch - in some way. Several bugs/mistakes caught my eye. Overall it seems to be a fun project.
droopus, if you are involved with it just admit it. No point to hide it.

I'm NOT lying. I just got involved in The Scene, which is exactly what I said. I've been a principal at Jun for years, and yes, I did the Winwood project. I was only got involved in The Scene after Episode 1 when I saw it. Jun has more than a few people in it you know. Jun is doing dozens of projects, and I didn't even know about The Scene.
Where did I say anything else?
Now, maybe you can explain why you changed nicks just to insult me?

Thanks for the compliment, it is fun. That's all we're trying to do. If you see a mistake, please tell us at Brian.Sandro@gmail.com
As for hiding it, I SAID I was involved in it...I even discussed why I got involved.
As for Jun Group, Jun Group does more than The Scene. In fact, Jun Group's subsidiary "Jun Entertainment" does it. Jun Group proper has nothing to do with The Scene. I said I got involved after EP 1, and that is absolutely true.
But I appreciate the kind words. B)

look at every post youve made here. you tried to come in here looking like an average joe schmo who was so excited about this (imho very boring) show, its very obvious what you were doing i dont even know why u try to explain it away now. just say "yah i was trying to generate hype " .
im not gonna keep posting here arguing with you. because the mods obviously dont like me for some reason. i just wanted to point out. that everything about you is not what it seems. |
Nothing in the scene is what it seems to be. "do to us?" I've been into the scene since we were using acoustic couplers...it's mine as much as yours.
You misunderstand our intention. WE do not want to make money off it...we want to convince the media companies to try and distribute legitimately on the net. Look, man, you have a choice...you want the Feds smashing your door down and your equipment confiscated, or do you want to realize you have a business already going in which YOU will make money, just like a TV station?
THAT is our intention...to remove the criminal perception of the scene and show people its a great way to distribute legal, legitimate content, like albums and movies.
Again, we have made NO MONEY off this, we are just trying to show how it could be done.
How is trying to make you money insulting? I apologize for any insult.
But I appreciate your calm response, and all I ask is that you think about the concept for a minute. Wouldn't you like to make a living doing what you love?
Peace.

ive thought about the concept long and hard.
this would only destroy the scene as we know it.
basically you want "selective" artists to get promoted on the scene.
the scene should be free from any form of corporate selection.
you might not be making money off this particular deal, but you have made money off promoting certain artists in "the scene" in the past. and you will try to do it in the future.
i dont think the concept of you using your affils to advertise for corporations will sit well with many siteops.

Of course, that's not true at all, as I explained, but again, you're entitled to your opinion. I just thought the status quo that you value so dearly is insufficient, and there is power in the scene. You are free to live in fear.

i didnt change nicks, i just regged this nick to let people know what your all about, i have the funny feeling you use the nick "droopus" to make connections in the scene so u can use them for "advertising " for corporations. i just wanted people to be aware of what you and your colleagues intend to do .
I dont know why youd think that big corporations are just going to allow the distrubiton of there "promos" into scene sites that allready hold large archives of copyrighted material from the same corporations...
i dont know why youd think that its nessecary to "show the world" that " the scene" is an effective way to spread media, dont know why u bring "scene" into that.. if you mean the methods the scene use as in ftp etc than yes they are effective , and they have been used by companies for a long time . Seems like your only goal is to line your pockets while screwin around in the scene. so do you tell your affils exactly whats going on? that youve been contracted to advertise corporate media on there time? i doubt that.

You don't even take the time to understand the concepts involved (and you don't know anything about them, as proven by your "guesses"), yet based on your own flawed opinions, feel free to make accusations, insults, premonitions of how it will affect millions of people.
I make mistakes. We all do. But to assume you know the business and cultural outcome of a program, when all you have is the most superficial knowledge, is not intelligent.
Tell you what. Shout from the highest rooftops how The Scene is lame, how Jun Group is out to "line our pockets" (how many times do I have to mention WE HAVEN'T MADE A DIME?) how Droopus is a liar..I really don't care. Live in fear that the Feds are going to take you and your favorite sites down.
I care about the future of media distribution. I think the scene can be involved in that, to the POSITIVE benefit of the people in it. I want to take the people who pioneered, built and developed (and are still developing) the scene to be the next Warner Brothers and MGM. I'm optimistic in that I see the people distributing media via the scene are the next Hollywood, and can form companies to get content out. That doesn't benefit ME or Jun in any fucking way. It benefits the scene and the people in it. ...YOU.
We get a few hundred mails a day at brian.sandro@gmail.com. 99% (100% lately) are enthusiastically positive, and most are from scene members. They understand why we are trying this experiment.
Piracy has always been the precursor to legitimate business: the VCR, cassette tape, etc... This is the next one, and will be the biggest. Remember when you didn't want to move forward, but had the opportunity.

so your telling us you wanna do away with the scene as we know it, and replace it with a system of corporate distrbution? lol good luck buddy,.
you get a few hundred mails a day from kazaa users who are happy that you made a show about the "leet warez scene", they have no clue about your master plans to "corporatize the scene". Bringing corporations in contact with sites that hold large amounts of copyrighted material will never "help" the scene. you simply putting people at risk. so why dont you answer my question? i answered yours.
do your affils(doubt u have any left for your scene project anyway..) know about your plans to use their private sites to advertise for "certain artists"
from "certain corporations" ?
do they know your getting paid (or you want to) by corporations to release things from "certain artists" on their sites?

Amazing. I say "a few hundred emails from sceners" and you turn that into "a few hundred emails from Kazaa users."
Do you always change what people write into what you wanted them to write?

Once again, I never said, nor suggested anything like that. I say "I want to turn scene distros into MGM" and you read "I want to put MGM in contact with the scene."
This is an utter waste of my time. You don't even read what I write, much less understand it.

theres no point in arguing with you because your a liar.
you lied here, and you lied your way onto sites to pre your little project.
Anyone who looks at your companys website or does even a little research on it can tell that they intend to work with corporations to distrubute promos onto "topsites, p2p" etc.
So basically a company pays you money to release "promo verisons" of their artists material onto the internet. Why would the scene .. need YOU to do that? things get released enough as it is. (thing is you just wanna get paid for screwing around on sites, people do it for free, because of the community not cause they get paid by some corporation)
so in your vision of the future for the scene... we wont see a group pre a dvdr, well see sony pre a 15 min protected promo of their latest movie.
it may work well for your company to do this in p2p.
but this will never be accepted in the scene.
see the main thing is: the scene doesnt NEED you to selectively dump corporate promo versions onto its sites, when the full version is sitting right there.
as i said the only thing your doing with that is putting the people on your affils at risk. its absolutly laughable that you think major corporations will have no problems putting those promo versions on the same sites that are activly breaking there copyrights.
I understand your getting paid to do this, and you will continue to do it.
but please stop acting like your doing the "scene" a favor by exploiting it to line your own pockets. your company is obviously operating for profit.

Why get all fussed about this? The idea to promote new artists through The Scene is far from something new. Promos that are pre retail releases is sometimes great to get but why would corporations market to a group of people who will most likely just leech the retail release later?
I think why there are so many that work in the scene and maintain because it is to get free stuff that normally is not free.

Too bad there is no "ignore" option here
About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

Too bad there is no "ignore" option here |
Perfect example. You claim "the things you know, you know WELL." I assume you think you know nforce "well" but didn't look closely enough to see that there has been an ignore button for years.
I have never lied about anything here or on the scene. I have tried calmly explaining our logic, but "Guesswhat" (a name made up so no one would know who was replying to me) doesn't have the slightest clue about "our little project."
1) We are not interested in promos, but distributing ENTIRE films and ENTIRE CDS, for free, well before YOU can get them. And totally legally. Nowhere do I suggest that we would be so lame as to put up a "promo" when the proper is already up. "Guesswhat" simply made that up out of thin air. We have already distributed five full movies and over sixty full CDs from sites, and guess what? The sky hasn't fallen.
2) As I said, we are doing this because the scene and sceners are powerful and we think we can make money FOR THE SCENE and the top level people on it. WE HAVE MADE NO MONEY OFF OUR PROJECTS. Not a dime. We are not "being paid to do this." We are still proving our theory. (Yet another "fact" made up by "guesswhat")
3) More than ten million people have downloaded an episode of The Scene (TS) and we get a enormous deal of positive mail. The movie studios and record companies are interested in giving us finished, complete, DRM-free albums, not "promos" (Again, "guesswhat" just made that up.)
4) WE ARE NOT OUT TO HURT ANYONE, OR COMPROMISE THE SCENE IN ANY WAY, which is why we leave out the security technology. We have absolutely no involvement with the Feds or MPAA (or RIAA) and detest them as much as you do.
5) I simply don't believe that people would rather live in fear of a bust and years in jail, rather than earn a very nice living doing the exact thing they are doing now.
6) Now, if "guesswhat" wants to twist that around to say we are underground cops who want to distribute promos when the proper is already there, he may feel free to do so BUT HE IS TOTALLY WRONG.
Ignore me if you like, nforce isn't the scene. But me disappearing? I'm an "old man" of the scene, and was racing and running IRC bots when many of Nforces members were in diapers.
Other than the many intelligent people here who understand what we are trying to do, and have sent kind mail (thanks!), some of you angry young men need some business education.
And that was my last post. I can't discuss things with people who take not the slighest effort to understand new ideas, who just look to maintain the status quo, and make stuff up as they go along.
Episode 5 will be out in two weeks.

I'll give this project a brief analysis from the "business" side of things:
We have, thus far established that:
1. There are plans to distribute legal content.
2. The parties distributing such content plan on being reimbursed for their work
3. Such content shall go through an established, underground network known as the "scene".
4. Such content will be distributed by people with previous experience in the "Scene".
5. Such distribution will be in promotion or certain artists and/or the businesses behind them.
6. Such businesses have competitors.
7. Payment is not to be recieved in highly anonymous form (unmarked cash via personal meetings).
8. Current payment systems, specifically those likely to be used in such transactions (credit cards and/or accounts linked to them) are easily traceable.
9. The individuals involved are, have, or have come into contact with others who are providing content that is both illegal and against the interests of major corporate entities.
Having established the aforementioned nine points, we see a pattern forming: As soon as this distribution network becomes large enough to be noticed by the corporate entities it will be competing with, those entities are likely to apply effort in shutting it down. Since participants of the network are known to, and have come into contact with individuals who have violated the law, it will be easy enough for the corporate entities, and the authorities cooperating with them, to trace the transactions back to you and prosecute you for your past or current crimes, as well as to find through your network others.
In case you are counting on amnesty, unlikely. Unless you agree to immediately clear the entire underground network of illegal content, and shut down those "scene" members who refuse, as well as any channels through which "scene members" and members of the general public retrieve illegal files, and completely purge all such files from the network your files will go through, you are not likely to be pardoned from prosecution. Thus, you are either going to elliminate the "illegal" part of the scene by converting it to legality, or you will be prosecuted. In the former case, your project is doomed, The latter case, should you be allowed to execute it, will never be approved by the other members of the scene. Even if such approval should be granted, the scene will reduce itself to nothing more than a corporate distribution network.
Sorry to disappoint, but unless someone here can disprove me, your theory is inherently flawed. That, and it can get all participants of this project arrested, which could trigger a shockwave of arrests.
Please pass this message on to the other participants of your projects so that they may know what they are risking, unless of course you can prove my analysis flawed, in which case please do.

Yes, by every music label, film studio and media company.
Quote: |
2. The parties distributing such content plan on being reimbursed for their work

Of course.
Quote: |
3. Such content shall go through an established, underground network known as the "scene".

That would be one method of distribution (Torrents and mirrors forming another, and hard goods, satellite on demand, cable on demand, etc, etc) but essentially, .....yes.
Quote: |
4. Such content will be distributed by people with previous experience in the "Scene".

Only at one level. The remainder would be distributed by other entities, but again, for the purposes of this discussion (very refreshing, thanks) ..yes.
Quote: |
5. Such distribution will be in promotion or certain artists and/or the businesses behind them.

Unless I'm missing your meaning, no. You go see a film, buy a CD, not a Warner Bros film or Sony CD. But would we promote the artist, as we have promoted Maylynne in The Scene? Yes.

6. Such businesses have competitors.

Do you mean media companies? Of course.

7. Payment is not to be recieved in highly anonymous form (unmarked cash via personal meetings).

No. Each person who desires to form a distribution system would form a company, (shadow, if they desire security) and receive bona fide payments.

Yes, and they rip you off, as well.

Your past history is of no interest. What you provide the media companies is all that matters. This isn't said frivolously. I ran a large FTP for years, but the media companies with whom we are talking couldn't care less. I would discuss this with you offline, but your past history would not be a factor.
Quote: |
Having established the aforementioned nine points, we see a pattern forming: As soon as this distribution network becomes large enough to be noticed by the corporate entities it will be competing with, those entities are likely to apply effort in shutting it down.
|
It cannot be shut down, and if it is generating significant revenue for the media companies, why would they choose to continue any enforcement whatsoever? That's killing the golden goose. Again, I could discuss this with you offline.
Quote: |
Since participants of the network are known to, and have come into contact with individuals who have violated the law,
|
Not provable, and not a threat, as specified by the DMCA.
Quote: |
it will be easy enough for the corporate entities, and the authorities cooperating with them, to trace the transactions back to you and prosecute you for your past or current crimes, as well as to find through your network others.
|
A fair concern. We know this, and from every media company received the same answer: if we generate revenue for them, and ourselves what was done in the past is unimportant.
Also, they do not have the human resources to pursue tens of thousands of people.
Quote: |
In case you are counting on amnesty, unlikely.
|
Sorry, not true. We released a Steve Winwood set (3 MP3s, 2 long form videos) and had total indemnity including "other activities" besides the Winwood project. This is a standard thing to request and media companies typically grant indemnification in such cases.
Quote: |
Unless you agree to immediately clear the entire underground network of illegal content, and shut down those "scene" members who refuse, as well as any channels through which "scene members" and members of the general public retrieve illegal files, and completely purge all such files from the network your files will go through, you are not likely to be pardoned from prosecution.
|
We were. So would any legitimate distribution company, even if "others" continued infringing activities. You think I'd put my name in the press if I was at risk?
Quote: |
Thus, you are either going to elliminate the "illegal" part of the scene by converting it to legality, or you will be prosecuted. In the former case, your project is doomed,
|
But we have done it successfully many times. In the case of Winwood, we pumped CD sales by 1500%
Quote: |
The latter case, should you be allowed to execute it, will never be approved by the other members of the scene. Even if such approval should be granted, the scene will reduce itself to nothing more than a corporate distribution network.
|
I disagree. Even after the AHRA was enacted, do you not think that people used cassettes and VCRs for infringing means? The scene as we know it today will continue unabated.
Quote: |
Sorry to disappoint, but unless someone here can disprove me, your theory is inherently flawed. That, and it can get all participants of this project arrested, which could trigger a shockwave of arrests.
|
No one will ever be arrested due to us. We have been doing this two years and have only recently gone pubic. As I said, films and music have already been released under this program. For the average scene user, nothing will change. For the smart scene user who would like a full wallet, this opportunity exists.
Quote: |
Please pass this message on to the other participants of your projects so that they may know what they are risking, unless of course you can prove my analysis flawed, in which case please do.
|
Thank you for your concern for my co-workers, your thoughtful analysis, and your cogent opinion. The only way to prove/disprove this as a business process is to continue. If we fail, I will gladly post to you that you were correct. I hope the reverse is true.
Thanks very much for the post and your time.

you lied here, and you lied your way onto sites to pre your little project.
This droop is just an attention whore, if you will ignore him. If *ALL of us* will ignore him he will disappear with his so called 'project'.
Hey Smart one, quote me saying I know NFOrce well.
I think you've got loads of time on ur hands if u can write so much pointless crap. We were doing good here without your 'secret "NASA" projects'
This topic would look cooler as a locked topic cause i smell some Flame wars...
About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

I don't consider my work pointless. Sorry you do. Besides, it's Sunday. Not much else to do.

Doing "well" (to be pedantic.) And I've been lurking this forum since the week Nforce launched. Been using the site for just as long. Are you accusing me of "damaging" Nforce?

I have a much simpler solution. How about we make it a "dead" topic. Seems like a significant percentage of forum readers have little interest in what the future holds for the scene, hate TS, have even less interest in doing much besides making sure nothing disturbs the status quo and are quite satisfied to wait for that knock on the door. However, I see opportunity, protection and income for sceners, and a way for the film and music companies to stop regarding the scene as a threat, but as a huge source of revenue. Mea culpa.
So, we are all wasting our time, and all getting angry over something on which neither you, nor I are willing to change our opinions. It's like arguing over abortion. As for flame wars, I never participate, so don't bother locking it.
Let's just leave our opinions as they are, and I won't respond further, mmkay? You do the same, and the thread is dead.

One thing I do not understand, why does people read droop´s posts, and only understands and listen to 10% of it? It seems to me that once you have made up your mind of what to think about him and/or TS, then you´re to stubborn to change it.
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

because what hes trying to do is not allowed/accepted in the scene.
hes lying to his "connections in the scene" about his true purpose.
and using private sites to advertise for corporations at their expense. So generally the guy has no problem lying to anyone to further his goals.
