Did you know that 04.12 was a premiere of "Mount & Blade: Ogniem i mieczem" ( "With Fire and Sword," or in Russian: Огнем и мечом) The game was released only in Ukraine, Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Poland. The problem is that there is no crack yet.
PS Is anyone who is able to crack this game?

Bow and arrow is a bit inaccurate though isn't it, plus slow to draw and hard to aim so on horseback using a spear or lance to run them trough would work though doding is always possible and horses turn pretty slow. (A shield would probably work for melee but with other disadvantages, that and you'd need something in the size of a kite shield to cover enough of your body.)
It'll probably be balanced when it's released seeing as they are in heavy beta testing now.
(Based on various videos and info released so far.)
That said some random guy running back and forth dodging and rolling and all that while quickly shooting weaker arrows to wittle down health here and there and taking kills from already injured other players is also a possibility.

Aye, we'll see. I'm just afraid of being right about this ^^
Balancing melee and ranged combat is always a very difficult goal to achieve and in my opinion the key to become an epic fail or not.

Modders finally released the "1866: Western Mod" for the M&B... and I love it. I just lost a whole night playing the mod, went to bed at 10 am :I
here's one link for the file http://www.mountfanblade.com/index.php?cat=addons&id=37

Well... it's totally a firearms mod... all the npcs carry ones. So it's much more deadly than the native. Even when turning the difficulty to minimum I'm getting killed by a single shot from a rifle/shotgun.
Otherwise the guns are like bows from native, as long as you stay hell away from enemies and snipe them carefully, you're totally safe ( as long as you have bullets left)

Well based on the changes on Gamersgate it seems mainly to be a tuned and tweaked version of the original game although with multiplayer and certain other changes so core gameplay is nearly identical to the original M&B.
Quote: |
Features:
•Graphical overhaul: Support added for HDR, FSAA, depth of field, soft particles, tone mapping, and many other effects
•New models with greater detail and high-quality textures
•Multiplayer battles with up to 64 players. Multiplayer modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Conquest, Battle, and Siege
•A campaign allowing you to become the ruler of a faction and convince lords to become your vassals
•The ability to upgrade your companions to vassals by granting them lands
•The ability to marry a lady of the realm for romance or cold political gain. Try to win a lady’s heart through poetry or bravery
•Improved mechanics for soldier morale: Soldiers will break and run away if their morale gets too low
•Pick any projectile off the battlefield for use as additional munitions
•New motion-captured combat animations
•Numerous improvements to the combat system: Your shield will still stop arrows even if you are not actively defending
•The ability to play multiplayer matches on random maps as well as hand-designed ones
•Multiplayer equipment system: Earn money by fighting opponents or accomplishing goals
•The ability to use most throwing weapons in close combat: Switch to using a javelin as a short spear when the enemy gets close
•Spend gold on more powerful equipment, using a carefully balanced system that will make combat more exciting without giving too much of an advantage to the leading team

graphical overhaul? Me like.
Better texture quality? Me like too.
I don't know how good MP is gonna be but I'm sure as hell gonna try it out (and probably buy it once it's released)

Can't find a price for it on Steam, Gamersgate has it set to roughly 30 euro though, unsure about other places like retail stores, their own website and other digital stores.
(If it's available retail finding it cheaper shouldn't be a problem.)

Well M&B is £4 on steam atm... They haven't announced a price for Warband but I'm tempted to grab the original right now cos the STALKER CoP loyalty discount thing might well be summat they include with this. I dunno hmmmm.....

i thought the 5e was a good price for an old game that is still so horribly broken, so i bought it.. and there's no way i'm paying any more than that for warband either unless it really brushes up on it's faults
only thing making the game fun on the long run is the mods, which simply shouldn't be

I spent many hours playing vanilla Mount and Blade and enjoyed every minute. Mods can improve upon it substantially, whether that's expanding upon the original idea or fixing problems... but lets not pretend the core game is broken or anything.
Warband multiplayer is epic though. If you can forgive the lack of modernisation in the way it controls/works you'll be very impressed I'm sure. The singleplayer combat is mostly forgettable (if enjoyable) fodder but once you take it online it really shines - especially if you can get into an organised team.

Haven't had the time to test it yet. But is it just plain battles or is it the whole Mount & Blade shabang online? Haven't read up on Warband yet. Yes, I do bow my head in shame

afaik there are only battles in mp. it would be awesome if it was smth like mmorpg but it won't be posiible in next couple of years due to high complexity of this idea and insufficient resorces of the developer.

Warband is standalone, actually.

The MP is pretty good. It's a bit lag lag-dependant but still a lot of fun.

M&B is around 29 Euro as I can see on Steam, 8 Euro now though as per the weekend deal, again though Steam isn't the cheapest alternative available.

Is the expansion playable singleplayer?
By expansion I mean the Warband.
