I think they just reduce it's range and other stats to, say, Ranger. And that's all.

It's the biggest load of horseshit I've ever heard. Gimp 1887s? How about "balancing" the fucking grenade launcher!! Instead every fucking game is filled to the brim with skill-less cocksuckers who use Scavenger and just fill the map with grenades and launched grenades.

That patch log is also posted on official forum, do some research before nerd raging.

Can't say I've ever had a problem with the 1887's, it's actually fairly rare to encounter people using them. I was looking forward to getting them myself though since a 'run and gun' style of play is what I find most enjoyable.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand done.
jesus fuck they werent kidding. this game was fucking short. id have felt super ripped if id paid money for this. enjoyable though, and i will play it again. said it before and ill say it again, the set-pieces were really good for the most part, and i loved the level of immersion in the game (first person cinematic integration i guess you could say). overall, not perfect but a really good experience.
double the length, and add dedicated servers, and wow. coulda been one of the best games in ages.
still cant believe ive allready finished it ffs, jeez. can only imagine what people who PAID for it, thought when the credits started rolling so soon.

I bought the game and this is what I thought when credits started rolling: "great, can finally go back to playing multiplayer"
Seriously, this game is mainly multplayer so stop bitching about SP length. If you refuse to play multiplayer and experience game to its fullest don't blame developers for lack of content, because there is no lack.

youre entitled to your opinion, and im entitled to mine.
single player is fun yet criminally short
game is way overpriced
and while im sure you might find the multiplayer experience fun for you, had I paid for it, given lack of dedicated servers support, where i live in the world would likely make for a laggy shitty and probably unplayable experience, meaning that SP would be the only redeeming quality for this overly expensive game. and i'd have been ripped off by its length.

No, because IW sux..
Edit: If IW makes forcing original content, as they claim, in the new patch, how the hell are they gonna release mod tools?

the question is: what other game is worth the money for some good online matches today?

BF2, TF2, CoDWaW. They are cheap and still have many players online.

TF2 is the best FFA experience I have ever had. In all other games I would loeathe FFA and only play pug's, praccs or clan matches.
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

I still play COD5 online from time to time as it's what the guys from work play, still enjoyable but fairly quiet unless you want TDM.
COD4 still seems to have quite a few people online. Although I must admit been a few weeks since I went on, MW2 is my current obsession.
TF2 is always busy.

actually i found that l4d (back before i said fuck this shit and packed it in when i found out about l4d2 ) had the best use of voice chat in an online game. it was actually useful and didnt piss me off, and sometimes it was fucking entertaining (such as joining a chinese server and hearing some dude singing in chinese hahahah)
tf2 by comparison... blech.. fuck that, i always just turn voice chat off. too many fucking kids who take it fucking seriously 'OMG WE HAVE INBOUND HOSTILES AT 3:00, GET THAT SENTRY UP AND THEN HIT THEM WITH A FLANKING MANEUVER FROM THE LEFT!'... just makes me want to throw up... i feel embarrassed to be on the same server as these twits.
that being said, tf2 sure is a shitload of fun when voice chats turned off

Yondaime wrote: | What I really like about TF2 is that generally people use voice chat more than any other online fps game. Obviously you're bound to meet some kids sure, but generally speaking, the people I meet when playing TF2 are just fun people who joke with each other. I don't know why but TF2 just seems to have a lot of socially fun people playing.
And if you start talking in basically any populated server you're almost bound to find someone else who talks. ^^
That's why I really love TF2. Yes, all the classes make it a very unique and fun game but the social aspects are just awesome. In MW2 most people stay quiet and when they do talk they usually whine so you'd have to play with people you know to have some social stuff going on. In CoD4 there was more talk because of server communities forming.
Those are the kinds of things that makes you play even longer, it truly enriches the game. I used to be the kind of person who joined a random server, stayed quiet and just did my few kills while rarely writing something. I never played any game for a long time but then I found TF2 and it's still my most played online shooter and that's all thanks to the social aspects. You find your place within the server community, people get to know you by your skills and what you say, you get to know other people who you spend a lot of time when you're playing. |
Very good point, the social aspect is very important, mate. I really love to buzz and mess up with the mic.
