Well, I have several friends who have smoked marijuana (might have smoked once or twice too  ), but that's bullshit, it's less "heavy" than alcohol, so yeah, wouldn't call that a drug just because of how government categorizes it.
But other stuff? No way. It all comes down to the company you are in, I guess. I think it's very naive to think everyone must be exposed to drugs.

I seriously doubt the veracity of this statement. I actually think it's pretty ignorant of you to assume you can detect if someone is under the influence of a drug when you have no experience with their usage, directly or indirectly. Especially when alcohol already greatly inhibits environmental awareness. That you state that you can tell if a complete stranger is using is absurd considering this.
Have you ever thought that people just don't talk to you about drugs? You don't seem exactly open to the concept.

What matters is you have no basis for your claims.
You've never tried a drug other then alcohol, you've never encountered someone under the influence of drugs and you never talk about it. You're also commonly under the influence of alcohol when you're in an environment conducive to recreational drug use.
What makes you think you could tell if someone was under the influence? You think all drugs have the same effect? You think everyone acts the same way when using the same drug? You think that drug use automatically equals inebriated behaviour? Many drugs don't even have overt physiological indicators. How can you even make a contrast with an individuals sober behaviour when you've never met them before.
You don't know what you're talking about.

My friend's life was ruined by cocaine. Well his life was ruined by being a horrible fuck up, but the cocaine didn't help. To be fair his life was shit before the cocaine addiction, but it got worse.

I've really only done coke once, and it was over a weekend in Vegas for a bachelor party. Seemed like the thing to do at the time, but doesn't seem to pack much value for the $. Too many trips to the bathroom to snort a line :/

yeah, i hate smoking. So it was only natural that i started to prefer cookies. It s more work, but the cookies usually last 2-3 months, sometimes longer (in the fridge of course). Would perhaps last way longer, if they wouldnt get eaten
I d love to send some out, but as long as its going over the border to another country, chances are high, that they wont get to you (and may get the receiver into trouble).

I don't have much experience with baking, but I guess I'm supposed to make weed-butter before baking rather than just adding weed to some cookie/cake mix?

yeah, put the weed in the butter but dont let it get too hot (everything under 160 degrees is good, because at temps over 160 the thc will break down). Then afterwards add soy-lecithine to make the mix easier to digest (this makes the cookies way more potent). This way you can get away with only 2 to 5g of grass for two baking trays full of cookies. I usually end up with 50 to 60 cookies and two cookies are usually enough for a long and awesome trip =D
any recipe is good that uses butter (but watch the baking temps: i usually only bake at 120, so it takes double the time in the oven), so take the cookie-recipe you like the most

That is extraordinarily efficient. I'm not really into cannabis, but I'll pass on your advice to my friends who are.

I actually would agree with that when it comes to regular users of the substance, although the stereotype of course isn't 100% accurate. Like I said before, I don't use anything regularly, but I like to experiment, and have tried many substances, psychedelics easily being my favourite. I believe that people who've never tried drugs are missing out on what can be an exceptionally profound way of altering your consciousness. Many letting arbitrary societal conceptions on morality and misinformation on potential effects dictate their behaviour.
I hate it when ignorant people say "Do you need that to have a good time?" or "I'm high on life!!1", since the mind state achieved under the influence of many psychotropic substances is simply unobtainable though sober experience.

i guess you d judge differently if you had seen some korsakoff patients. Alcohol is the worst legally obtainable neuro-toxin there is, imho.

No, I was merely stating personal preference, and wasn't really trying to debate which of them is more harmful. The truth is, when consumed in great quantities, both are equally harmful. Moderation is the key... 
Anyway, my point was, that I never was a real fan of drugs myself. Even though I tried some, they never really appealed to me, whereas a cup of good vine or sip of liquor after work usually has a beneficial calming effect, it even cures my occasional headache Pretty much the only drug I can bear (and occasionally consume) is weed.
As for partying... well, I like to know what I consume. With drugs, it's rarely the case... except when you're making them... Not to mention that the taste of a quality alcoholic drink can be quite pleasing.

That's true. But I think you can read between the lines, and get what I meant by my previous statement, can you? Anyway if I'd want to elaborate the meaning of drug, then I'd say that a drug is any substance that, by its chemical nature alters structure or function in any living organism. And that means that even the oxygen we breathe can be considered a drug, conceptionally speaking...
But the original point was: I like my drinks for their taste, substance, and effect. I only drink in moderation. And I'd never snort stuff up my nose or inject some shit into my arm. |

Anybody who has tried dropping acid would agree with you.
There was a painting in the ceiling of the hotel I was staying at, it depicted a tea party. Strangely enough the people were moving and talking amongst themselves.
There was water coming down the walls and the guy I shared the room with was asleep with a grin like the cheshire cat on his face.
Had a hard time falling asleep for all the water and the noisy people in the painting. |
