DLC needs patch 1.1.0 or later installed. Funny thing is I googled that patch and it's all rapidshare/megaupload links lmao. The only one I could find from fileplanet and the likes is 1.0.1

Wonder if it's a typo?

ya im already downloading it from there official site Razz the link for it was on like page 2 of google results, how sad is that.

[edit] "You have requested to access a protected file that need access to the internet"

Allow it and it'll ask for a serial number.

The waypoint will show up in the quick travel list but you'll get stuck on a never ending loading screen, if you click your mouse you'll hear it ding, it's the securom window popping up in windows with no notification in the game. Cancel it and it crashes the game.

If I've got the reloaded release can I only pay for the dlc and play it ? or must I have a legit key for borderlands also.

Single player: 4/10

It's empty, cold and without substance. Sure, it's got all the weapon mods, creatures etc., but it's soulless and dull. Disappointment.

That just about sums it up for me as I quit playing after about 6-7 hours. The landscape is boring as hell as are the variety of creatures etc.

I've been playing Bioshock instead, which I'd never played before yesterday. Now that's a fantastic game as it has atmosphere, excitement and a decent storyline. All the things which are missing from Borderlands.

Borderlands is not about story, It's about shooting stuff with many kinds of guns, kinda like Serious Sam with a added looting twist.

That's exactly why I don't like it. IMO it's just a boring, mindless shooter/rpg with no immersive atmosphere.

I'm shocked that many have it in their top 5 list for GOTY.

I am guessing here, but those are all probably people that played co-op. I really enjoyed the game with friends. Soloing not nearly as fun, playing with random ninja's not nearly as fun.

Possibly, although I haven't tried co-op, but won't be continuing with SP. There's much better FPS and RPG's out there, and it just didn't work for me. I kept thinking it will get better etc but it didn't.

I just got the feeling I might a well be playing a decent FPS or WoW.

This might bug things a bit but as with Sacred 2 Ice & Blood what would happen if you renamed DFA.dll to say DFA_.dll to prevent SecuROM from working? perhaps something you could try Spykez?
(It's in both \Binaries and \Binaries\DLCSetup but that one shouldn't need to be touched, same with the SecuROM EXE file in \DLCSetup.)

It's very true, but what TiHKAL said is true also. If You get a chance, try the game with friends. Co-Op is a different beast altogether, believe me. It's not like the gameplay changes considerably, it's the same boring diablo-shooter, but somehow, it becomes immensly fun when played with your palls.

I got bored of the game (SP) after a few levels and stopped playing, yet i finished the game co-op and didn't have enough.

Thought this game was good while it lasted but it's replayibility value was pretty close to zilch even in coop multiplayer.
Would have been a LOT better if mobs were scaled to character level and if it had server side stats. As it was, I would join a MP game only for some random dude to join with his/hers insane modded guns which pretty much ruined the online game (ala Borderlands save editor).
I actually bought this game off steam after trying the reloaded version too. This DLC nor the upcoming one doesn't sound very interesting to me though so i'll pass.

Exactly, I played the game only in coop with four friends. I never touched the SP mode.
Coop is pure fun for me Razz

(I know the patch came out almost a month ago) I applied the 1.0.1 patch and I still don't have any issues with the game. Guess I'm just lucky this time. It's good they fixed the font size bug not showing the 5th description line on some items. Still waiting for a fixed version of the 1.1.0 patch though along with the dlc.

Zombie Island video review is up, seems like more of the same with a few new enemies and strangely no new loot.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-hd-borderlands-zombie/59942

WTF is up with all the zombie crap in games anyway, zombies is the new WW2 setting in games. :s

If you are in Windows Vista or 7 don't have it in XP compatibility mode. I had the same issue.

Also trying running the game as an adminstrator.

Finally go to the folder you installed it and the is a dlc folder which you can manually run the dlc updater

Yeah it don't work LOL

Someone needs to download the 1GB+ DLC, and post the files.

This is just a patch to run the DLC, this is not the actual DLC you can play, you still need to DL the files which contain more securom...

Anyways someone needs to do what Reloaded did with 1.0.1 patch, just copy the files that are being replaced.

the 1gb DLC file can easily be downloaded from the official gearbox website, just that it needs a cd key to unlock / install it.
